Why can’t they say it “hit” the wall? “Impacted” is best restricted to molars.
What an amazing thing that an airplane can break in three pieces and theres only one death.
Wow.
The plane is built very well.
Avoid the software, however.
Turkish airline.
Landed “hot and fast”, about 6,000 past the runway threshold and only 3,000 feet from the end of the runway. Basically, he missed the runway. Major screw-up by the pilot.

yeah, but i’m not buying it ...
Wasn't there a STOP sign at the end of the runway?
“yeah, but im not buying it ”
Epstein didn’t kill himself.
go-around
If done correctly, that’s a missed approach, re-fly the pattern and go again. Instead the captain slams it on the runway, breaks the plane and kills somebody. What is it about commercial aviation in other countries that creates such mediocre pilots?

This is the older 737-800, not a Max. Doesnt have the software flight control system.
Oops. Sorry bout dat, folks. Enjoy your stay in Istanbul.
I wonder what the conditions were and if mechanical failure is suspected. If the anti-lock brakes failed or the thrust reversers failed, that might account for it.
The report should read from Smyrna to Constantinople.
Okay, I see that the aircraft overshot the landing threshold by over a mile and had only 3300 feet to stop. Pilot should have gone around.
What an idiot! How could he not go around when anticipating touchdown 3,000 feet from end of runway?
Did the pilot scream “Allahu Akbar!” before touchdown?
Did the pilot scream Allahu Akbar! before touchdown?
