Please consider the reality, that Boy Scouts and local Troops aren't the same as National.
Indeed, think of how Normal People defended America when the Obama Administration held the Executive Branch. America isn't the politicians and bureaucrats who operate Leviathan...She is an attitude, a mindset, and a way of life whereby the individual is championed over the collective to facilitate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Similarly, as an Eagle Scout (sorry...you will ALWAYS be a marked man!), you know that Boy Scouts transcend the national office, their policies, and to a certain extent the local Councils. Scouting is, at its core, a time- and Results-tested way of youth formation whereby skills development and leadership are melded to created the men who will run the country tomorrow.
Yes, National is screwed up. But don't let the Dark Side win. You EARNED that award, and there are countless youths who want - nay NEED - your tutelage. There are tens of thousands of Assistsnt Scoutmasters, Scoutmasters, and Committees at the Troop level that still execute the mission of Scouting with loyalty and fidelity to Baden Powell.
I encourage you to work with a local Troop where, on balance, the true spirit of Scouting remains alive.
Actually, I suspect there have been a number of pedophile Scoutmasters stretching over the past century, and that these 1,800 lawsuits are from men who were molested during those years. IE, a generation or so before the NAMBLAers were *officially* allowed to be adult Scout leaders.
Think about it, if you were a pedophile in the pre-Woke era who favored young boys, where would be a better place to look for "young meat" than alone in the woods camping out with them? Even better prospects than priests had access to.
Whenever they were outed, they were booted out, and in the few cases I saw, the facts were hush-hushed. This happened in the second Troop I belonged to. The Scoutmaster "checked me out" by offering to drive me home one night to save my Folks a trip. He started a long conversation about how I was "at an awkward age" and must be "confused about changes in my body" and so on. When he started talking/asking about "wet dreams," it was obvious I was very uncomfortable with this line of questioning, and so we said goodbye and I got out (we'd long since arrived at the lot outside my family's apartment). He didn't do anything like that again with me, so he must have crossed my name off his list of targets.
A few years after I quit (attained the rank of Life, and wanted out), I heard that he'd built a sauna in his home and invited groups of young Scouts to join him in it. Shortly after that I heard he'd been canned for unspecified reasons ... except that they had something to do with the sauna, and don't ask any more questions, you don't want to hear about this and it's an embarrassing topic for us and we're not going to tell you any more.
Probably not the first with this but I just love saying it. “Get woke go broke”

Most of these sexual abuse cases happened way before Scouts allowed gay leaders.
We had a assistant Scout leader back in the mid 70’s all us Scouts felt uneasy around. The guy just gave off bad vibes and I was naieve back then to these things. One day he no longer showed up for meetings. Years later heard he made some passes and he was quickly and quietly booted out.

As bad as recent decisions made by national headquarters have been, those 1,800 men claiming they were molested in the past go back to the 1940s. But actually, that is an infinitesimal number of complaints considering the millions of scouts over those years who participated in several tens of thousands of scout troops all around the USA.
A few bad apples really can spoil an entire, huge barrel. It’s a pity the complaints couldn’t have been handled legally as they happened over the years. But it also shows that pedophilia has always been a problem and recent changes in the scouts will only make it worse if the scouts manage to survive.
Why in the living hell would you do that? That represents your hard work and leadership abilities. Got nothing to do with how Rex Tillerson & Robert Gate helped ruin the scouts.

They were once known as the BSA, Boy Scouts of America.They changed the name To Scouts and its purpose. Originally it was an organization which was comprised of local District Councils. Which to save it might be the way a group of them reorganize and the reformed councils reclaim the name as well as its original purpose.

It doesn’t say that most were- t only states that records went back that far- it doesn’t indicate how many cases were that old- only that some were that old-
The article writer apparently was afraid to cite how many cases there were AFTER gays were allowed to lead- just as the military is afraid to say ho many gay rapes there are now since don’t ask don’t tell was repealed-
