He has advanced lung cancer
My father had this same form of cancer. I pray for a good outcome for Rush but even if he beats this Bade-Ginsburg style the treatment is likely going to leave him very fatigued and weakened. To the extent that he gets energy and optimism from doing his show, he should do it. We all just need to be prepared that he’ll not be up to it all the time for a while, at least.
Maybe you need to take another year’s suspension. Sheesh!
You are right. It was ‘89 when I discovered him on that beach, not ‘88.
This is so shocking, and of course I will pray for Rush. Not 15 minutes before his announcement did I realize I’ve been listening to him almost daily since 1990.
I’ve often wondered what would happen when he decided to retire. Now I pray he has lots of good years ahead of him, either to work or just retire and enjoy life to the fullest.
Lost my dad to it. One of the things that broke my heart - and ANGERED me at the same time was watching him die of COPD at the age of 58 - and watching him smoke a camel with an oxygen mask on because of that habit (addiction), knowing he had two grandsons to live for - and just could not quit.
He was stubborn and wouldn't listen to anything or anybody - and could will himself to go to work (as a pipefitter) when he had the flu and a 103 fever and even with a broken big toe and so many other hardships - but he couldn't say no to the cigerettes
Ugh. I feel so bad for Rush! I hope and pray for the best for him. My mom knew something was up, but she blamed his wife (she always blames the wife...)

I did too. I sincerely hope he’s a believer as, when the time comes, and I hope it’s a long, long time from now, I will meet him face to face at the coming of Jesus Christ.

Me three! Started listening way back at the beginning of the first gulf war. Have loved him ever since. Love him! And I miss him terribly when he’s not on.
I always felt bad for Rush that he never had a child. He would have made the best parent ever. Maybe Catherine will get pregnant! That would be wonderful.

I have lived through it.
He will go through HELL to live through the election.
My relative chose not to go through it. Dead in 4 months with just radiation of the brain.

Stage 4 with no prior symptoms is generally bad because the cancer had time to spread everywhere else. A car buddy was diagnosed with same thing and passed away a month later.
When Rush talked about his ramped up talk with God he knows whats coming.
Don’t smoke, people. Not cigarettes, not cigars, not anything else, not even a little bit.

I just had a catscan last week due to breathlessness and coughing. I was holding my breath as I quit smoking 21 years ago and always prayed it was soon enough. Fortunately it looks like a combo of allergies and mild to moderate asthma.
If you don’t smoke don’t start.

Yup. Was that way with my uncle.
Was diagnosed. Had surgery, radiation, chemo.
Cured the lung but a few months later it surfaced
in his brain.
By the way, the best thing RUsh could do is be honest about what he goes through...and maybe it will sink in to people NOT TO SMOKE
Pretending it isn’t gruesome is a disservice.
Stop doing it.
I ask the lord this on a daily basis.
