He was a rapist. Deal with it': Disney heiress Abigail Disney weighs in on Kobe Bryant's rape case past
Daily Mail ^ | 1-29-2020 | Leah Simpson

Abigail Disney has weighed in on Kobe Bryant's controversial past, after actress Evan Rachel Wood and a Washington Post journalist were berated for tweeting about a rape allegation against him from 2003, just hours after his death in a helicopter crash Sunday.

Disney - whose grandfather Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company - tweeted: 'I haven't said anything about Kobe so far because I felt some time needed to pass before weighing in. But yes, it's time for the sledgehammer to come out. The man was a rapist. Deal with it.'

John McCain is dead, also. Does that mean we don’t refer to him as being up to his neck in corruption cases that are going to come forward?

Yes, he was. He admitted as much.

False; he admitted adultery and fornication. He denied rape and charges were dropped. Whatever happened began consensually.

“It’s a he said, she said”

Not according to the letter Kobe released were he owned up to the rape and then the later pay-off.

I remember the incident and was unaware of the admission and the out-of-court settlement. At the time, she was raked over the coals as a gold-digger and I thought she was lying.

Willingly going to a man’s apartment and being raped are two different concepts.

And then to have enablers like you defending them is a sign of a sick society. Your way of thinking is cancer.

Does this outrage apply to the FR threads about
  1. Certain Freepers "hitting it"
  2. Teachers (female) arrested for having relations with students and being "acquitted" based on their "hotness"
  3. Freepers (latent homosexuals ?) cheering other men going to prison and hoping they are raped
  4. Every single Freeper who uses or winks at porn ?

It’s not just on them. He was a married man. Or, doesn’t that fact mean a thing to you? Your response is telling.

ZagFan, I had to deal with a disgusting, mentally crazed person who made up lies about me while he was alive—why in the world would I care about anyone else saying lies or truth about me in my death?

My wife can handle it, too.

What do you think Trump and his family are dealing with every day?

Kobe is nothing special—but I will say I’m surprised no one has posted a third thread on the supposed fact that he went to Mass that morning.

He must have been a good man if he took his current family to Disneyland and he went to Mass that morning. How can’t everyone agree with that? /sarc

I know our sins will be shouted from the mountain tops on Judgment Day. It won’t be nice for anyone.

I saw that apology letter he wrote. The man couldn’t keep his pecker in his pants.

Is that really why you are so defensive? You couldn’t either?

Of course not. Not rape. There's nothing wrong with the male of the species commenting on the attractiveness of the female of the species.

I consider that quite normal.

Teachers (female) arrested for having relations with students and being "acquitted" based on their "hotness"

Rape. And it's outrageous, yes.

Discussing the attractiveness of females, is another thing entirely. It's completely normal. Sidenote: Good looking women (and men, for that matter) have been getting away with things since humanity first walked the earth.

Freepers (latent homosexuals ?) cheering other men going to prison and hoping they are raped

Rape. Societies acceptance to the point of encouragement of brutality behind bars is not a good thing, but it is not unnatural either. Society frowns on criminals, as it should.

Every single Freeper who uses or winks at porn?

Not rape, but darn close.

Define 'uses' porn.

When you do, don't act like you don't.

So, to answer your question, it's a mixed bag. And I don't like to use the word outrage about myself, really. That connotes a certain inability to control one's emotions.

Each of the issues you raise can be looked at individually. Some are worse than others.

Sorta like a spectrum of outrage, if you will.

But getting back on topic, I hold no truck with rape. We are the good guys, after all.

So, I'm curious. The fact that you asked these questions make me think that you think I shouldn't be 'outraged' that Kobe Bryant was a rapist. Is that so? Or should I not be outraged at rape in general?

Just curious.

Perhaps, but all of this public rending of sackcloth and heaping of dust upon heads over a basketball player has been too much.

I remember when Mother Theresa died the same day as Princess Diana. The world went bonkers over Di’s death, but Mother Theresa’s was like, ‘meh’.

Played a kids game, got ridiculously well paid, and yeah, was a predator.

But yeah, let’s change the NBA logo for Kobe. (Gag me)

he was a rapist. tough to hear for his family, but it’s true!
I’m sure the young lady he raped is not shedding any tears. But Fr’s are.
When Clinton and Weinstein die, you gonna give them the same pass?
Or only if they were in church right before they croaked? Or pictures of them at Disneyland?
Kobe was a rapist. now he’s a dead one. The best kind.

Many inmates on Death Row seriously come to Christ during incarceration, and their lives are changed. They make sincere apologies. They still are executed. God remembers their sins no more, but He’s God. Humans demand justice.

I am deeply torn by the comments of my FRiends on this thread.

Should I go with the opinion of the rich woman whose relative drew mice,

and her supporters,

or with the opinion of the rich fellow who threw balls into a net

and his supporters?

I am confused and saddened, and I don’t know quite what to do.

N = Is it Necessary?

K = Is it Kind?

It wasn't about "men she'd dated." It was about the men she'd slept with in that 3-day period, including evidence that she'd slept with a man right after the alleged "rape."

You're missing the point. The media uninhibitedly blabbed the accuser's name to intimidate her from pressing forward with taking the case to trial. That's why the media has "shield laws" for rape victims, all except this one.
