Its a new year, but nothing much has changed since 2019 as far as how dumb and ignorant some college kids can be.
Yeah, you can chalk it up as kids just being young and dumb, but when a graduate student and some other college kids from several of Americas most prestigious law schools and colleges decide to express their deep disdain for the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, well, some of us take notice.
Daniel Espo, who according to his Facebook profile is studying or had studied at Harvard Law School, expressed his distaste for the late Justice Scalia, another Harvard Law School graduate when he wrote guess who isnt going to have a happy new year on a post of a picture of Scalias actual tombstone.
Espo went further, riling up other anti-Scalia students, saying that its just too bad Kissinger is still around.
Hating on Scalia is disturbing. Regardless of what side of the political aisle you find yourself, respect should always be given to all elected officials and confirmed jurists, regardless of how they voted or ruled.
One Emory University and Old Navy alum, Duy Nyugen, went as far as to say that Scalia didnt deserve the honor and respect he is given after his death because according to Nyugen, he didnt earn it while living.
If Scalia didnt want people to trash his memory, maybe he should have tried harder at not being a dick, added Nyugen
Hmm? I am not sure why Little Duy would post something so vulgar or offensive, but maybe he is deflected away from a shortcoming he may have?
Enter more frustrated kids.
Nicholas Van Erp, Brad Storch, Connor Peth, and others, decided to turn to the same toilet bowl they appear to think from.
Lets just remember that in 1986, Judge Antonin Scalia was confirmed by the U.S. Senate 98-0. Thats 98-0.
And you know what, current 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was part of the Senate Democratic Caucus who voted that day. Ouch!
Biden once said that Justice Scalia was one of our most influential justices.
Paesani :)
Trash from the right: he was an originalist, he would accept abortion if the states legislated it, they did not, it was imposed by judicial fiat.
One time I heard about a HS student who wrote about MacArthur and basically said, “MacArthur’s campaign in the Pacific in WWII wasn’t that bad, but it could have been better. Here’s how I would have handled the situation ...”
Im guessing the guy didnt make Law Review and his girlfriend did. He has issues.
Why?
I don’t believe he is forgotten any more than Presidents Washington, Lincoln, Reagan or others who are such a part of our history.
But once gone all we have are memories and what you can do with memories is remember them and not much else. Even the clowns who are attempting to trash him are proof he is hardly forgotten.
Out of that whole article, that one line stuck out at me.
I thought it was asinine.
So you two would post a tweet of some deceased jurist’s gravestone and insult him? I have better things to do with my times.
He’s not forgotten on the left, just the right. He wasn’t even replaced with one of his own clerks. He’s a only been dead a few years and his legacy is erased. He was very influential at one time.
Nonsense.
The liberal radical progressive education system did this and it worked. Hordes of young dumb zombies ready to fight without the facts or a debate
Anything Kennedy saved abortion in 1992. What do you think his clerks will do, if it's ever before the court again? Which justices do you support?
Legacies are based on accomplishments. Which of the many accomplishments of his court have been “erased”?
Im guessing the guy didnt make Law Review and his girlfriend did.
Girlfriend? Fat chance.
remember, a bunch of convicts in prison wiped the floor with the Harvard Law School Debate Team.

No. You missed my point, perhaps I wasnt explicit enough, but perhaps bagster had the same impression I did.
I didnt say the entire article was asinine. I said that one sentence was asinine.
And I said that because there is no way, none, in which that sentiment is something any American these days, never mind any real conservative could abide.
People who are trying to destroy this country both from the bench and from elected office do not deserve my respect. I have respect for the Constitution and for this country. If a jurist or elected official is involved in activities that are at best unconstitutional, and most of the time, anti-constitutional...those people are enemies and not deserving of respect.
I stand by that.
A hypothetical, but almost certainly true. If this guy had suddenly been told Antonin Scalia was a Democrat after his post, he would have taken the photo of the headstone down or edited his post to read: “Why I won’t be having a good year. I miss him so.”
These people are so incredibly stupid and completely fake, on top of being programmed since kindergarten.
Yeah you’re right.
I doubt 10 percent of the country knows we are a republic.
Quick show of hands FReepers.
Who agrees?
