Alan Dershowitz labeled Trump 'destabilizing and unpredictable' in 2016 book

As part of President Donald Trump's impeachment defense team, Alan Dershowitz is expected to argue on behalf of the president at the Senate trial early next week. But in a 2016 book he authored, the famed defense attorney called Trump a “destabilizing and unpredictable candidate,” warning that the then-presidential candidate “openly embraces fringe conspiracy theories peddled by extremists.”

Dershowitz wrote those statements in his book titled “Electile Dysfunction: A Guide for Unaroused Voters.”

In a phone call with NBC about his comments in the 2016 book, Dershowitz clarified his views about the president. “I was campaigning for Hillary Clinton at the time. I hadn’t really ever met President Trump and it was just typical campaign rhetoric," he said. "I would not repeat that characterization today having met him.”

The onetime celebrity defense attorney and retired Harvard professor who often appears on cable news is the latest Trump defender to have at one time disparaged the president in harsh terms. Other examples include Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who during the 2016 race called Trump a “jackass” and a “race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot.”

“destabilizing and unpredictable candidate”

That's exactly why we elected him.

“destabilizing and unpredictable” is what I like about Trump - both are qualities that has the Deep State and Uniparty two steps behind him.

He’s not going to “argue on behalf of the president” but rather argue on behalf of the Constitution. I despise the lying Stalinist media.

Dershowitz only secures his role as the right ‘add’ to the Trump defense team with this. His willingness to call balls and strikes accurately lends credibility to his arguments on Trump’s behalf.

Of course the media sees it differently.

In 2016 a lot of people said things

They said Hillary was going to win

Trump has done an amazing job
He has even changed the minds of some of those people

Dershowitz is his own man. He’s earned it the hard way.

“””””””called Trump a “destabilizing and unpredictable candidate,””””””””””

Plenty of people on this board who were fans of the Cubanadian called candidate Trump a lot worse names than that.

Alan Dershowitz labeled Trump ‘destabilizing and unpredictable’ in 2016 book...

Hmm, what’s it about that title that’s different? Let me think...?...

Oh I Know!! Dersh has come to know Trump and very much changed his opinion of Trump.

That’s why time passes :) Because changes happen.

Idiots.

I wonder if, when it comes time for the questions period of the hearing, some RAT will submit this to Dershowitz and tell him to explain why he changed his mind. I hope that happens; Dersh could enlighten them in ways they might not appreciate.

And the folks at NBC are too stupid to realize that story only ADDS to dersh’s creditability.

We are now in “The Great Disruption”. We have The Great Disruptor in charge. A disruptive event is just what this country needs to change course. The reason the libtards are so furious is they know the tide has changed. The reason the media is so disingenuous is an attempt to demoralize us. Don’t let them. No matter what happens we are winning. WINNING! Even if AG Barr won’t get off his fat ass. It would be nice to have some help from the GOP but we don’t really need it. The GOP may want to think about that. We don’t really need you, GOP.

Seems rather accurate.

I suppose it depends on who was destabilized. It certainly wasn’t us.

Democrats looks rather unstable.

Actually, Dershowitz is a ”Neo-Trumper” like Levin. They both started out as never-Trumpers and saw the light. Trump IS a destabilizing force as both Dershowitz and Levin actually predicted what later they would both come to admire.

How many of us had our doubts about Trump before we got to know him?

The dems keep showing their hand over and over.

Look at this for what it really is—a new depth in their desperation level.

RINOs like Paul Ryano and the rest of the GOPe are making sure Trump’s “disruptions” are quickly reversed. Like when Bush 41 took over in ‘89. That globalist sack of Schiff ruined everything.
