There is no more sacred room for military officers than 2E924 of the Pentagon, a windowless and secure vault where the Joint Chiefs of Staff meet regularly to wrestle with classified matters. Its more common name is the Tank. The Tank resembles a small corporate boardroom, with a gleaming golden oak table, leather swivel armchairs and other mid-century stylings. Inside its walls, flag officers observe a reverence and decorum for the wrenching decisions that have been made there.
Hanging prominently on one of the walls is The Peacemakers, a painting that depicts an 1865 Civil War strategy session with President Abraham Lincoln and his three service chiefs Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant, Major General William Tecumseh Sherman, and Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter. One hundred fifty-two years after Lincoln hatched plans to preserve the Union, President Trumps advisers staged an intervention inside the Tank to try to preserve the world order....
Trump organized his unorthodox worldview under the simplistic banner of America First, but Mattis, Tillerson, and Cohn feared his proposals were rash, barely considered, and a danger to Americas superpower standing. They also felt that many of Trumps impulsive ideas stemmed from his lack of familiarity with U.S. history and, even, where countries were located. To have a useful discussion with him, the trio agreed, they had to create a basic knowledge, a shared language....
Youre all losers, Trump said. You dont know how to win anymore.

Fake news. Orange man bad!
Way to go Mr. President, give ‘em hell.
VJ Day unless you count Grenada.
If he said that then it is the truth.
I have had zero respect for our nation's very highest leaders when they abandoned and **persecuted** lower level officers and military who dared to ask about Obama’s FAKE FAKE FAKE birth documents posted on the Internet. Shame on these perfumed pansies wearing all that costume jewelry on their uniforms. They abandoned the BRAVE and honorable soldiers serving under them to a USURPER.
There is plenty that these despicable highest level military leader could have and should have LEGALLY done to protect those serving under them. Money, perks, and retirement was more important that the lives and families of the honorable men and women in our military.
Amen!
Yup. For those who don't know or remember, Kerry volunteered for Swift Boat duty to pad his resume while those boats were only patrolling the coast of VN. Once they were re-assigned to patrol up-river hot spots, Kerry worked the system to get out with 3 (at least 2) bogus Purple Hearts. He put in for 2, himself. He served all of 8 months in country. The Swift Boat Veterans on his and other close boats are the reason that fraud didn't make it to the WH.
“Interestingly, the military brass questioning Trumps military acumen had no problem submissively taking orders from a community organizer from Chicago”.
WINNER!
This is a fascinating read. Just soak in the incredible amount of bias in word choice, the huge assumptions made by the author via mind-reading, and the pearl-clutching outrage by people who should really know better.
Everything in there Trump allegedly said I agreed with. The whole article hinges on a Pentagon meeting where Mattis, Tillerson, Dunford, and Cohn all wanted to lecture Trump on how great The Way Things Have Been For Decades really are and he should just get on board with doing that rather than his uncouth “America First” doctrine. Naturally that went over like a lead zeppelin, and Trump demanded answers to the very questions he’d asked repeatedly on the campaign trail. All they could respond with was some variation of “Well, it’s just always been that way, and we should pretend that it’s still 1946 out there.”
In an attempt to paint Trump as a seething lunatic, I felt like they painted him as one of us—staring these “let’s just keep doing what we’ve been doing” people in the face, demanding real answers, and not getting them. No wonder he fired them all.
Marine General Smedley Butler wrote way back in 1935 War is a racket"
IF he said it, they had it coming, in spades.
Trump is the only person I trust implicitly in that godforsaken swamp.
Daddy got him out of “war duty” with a posting in the Alabama National Guard?
Yeah whatever, keep believing that BS that discredited Dan Rather tried to peddle.
He was with the 147th Fighter Interceptor Group based at Ellington AFB in Houston.
I read the article and what I came away with was this:
The Chiefs of Staff, et al. wanted to preserve the global NWO. The CiC was frustrated with their inability to implement his directives. The CiC gave them a good “dressing down”.
Any military officer who can’t follow orders, or blunt talk, needs to be made a short timer.
Though clearly not its intention, this article made me love Trump more. :D ditto. you can see trumps heart in the story.
“Wonder who the crybabies at the Pentagon were who helped them.”
Crybabies like Vindman and the other coffee fetching brown nosing Lieutenant Colonel errand boys who try to out blue falcon each other on a daily basis.
Whatever and whenever!
Gotta happen!
Swamp gotta be drained by 2024!
WHOA!
You believe ANYTHING written by the Washington Compost!
His interface was Texas Lt. Gov Ben Barnes who repeatedly personally testified that that is exactly what he did on behalf of Bush and other sons of the wealthy well connected and that he regretted it for the rest of his life.
And Trumps main business is real estate. He probably has one of the best geographic understandings of all of us. So anyone who says he is simple, is just betraying their honesty. We all know he builds skyscrapers and had a pile of blueprints on his former private desk.
Where was the “course correction” when Obama was pansifying the armed forces? Trump’s calling the men and women in the room losers was NOT a reflection on the soldiers, sailors and marines in the field. He treats them with respect bordering on reverence.
