There is no more sacred room for military officers than 2E924 of the Pentagon, a windowless and secure vault where the Joint Chiefs of Staff meet regularly to wrestle with classified matters. Its more common name is the Tank. The Tank resembles a small corporate boardroom, with a gleaming golden oak table, leather swivel armchairs and other mid-century stylings. Inside its walls, flag officers observe a reverence and decorum for the wrenching decisions that have been made there.
Hanging prominently on one of the walls is The Peacemakers, a painting that depicts an 1865 Civil War strategy session with President Abraham Lincoln and his three service chiefs Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant, Major General William Tecumseh Sherman, and Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter. One hundred fifty-two years after Lincoln hatched plans to preserve the Union, President Trumps advisers staged an intervention inside the Tank to try to preserve the world order....
Trump organized his unorthodox worldview under the simplistic banner of America First, but Mattis, Tillerson, and Cohn feared his proposals were rash, barely considered, and a danger to Americas superpower standing. They also felt that many of Trumps impulsive ideas stemmed from his lack of familiarity with U.S. history and, even, where countries were located. To have a useful discussion with him, the trio agreed, they had to create a basic knowledge, a shared language....
Youre all losers, Trump said. You dont know how to win anymore.

This is exactly the stuff they said about Reagan, remember? He was an idiot. After he was out of office it came out how knowledgeable he actually was.
Exactly correct. Don’t forget the Reagan “is going to start WW3” recycled propaganda that we now see aimed at Trump, too. I recall pinkos marching in the streets of San Francisco with mock coffins during fleet week back in the ‘80s. Nothing new under the sun from America hating Democrats and their fellow travelling globalists.
Same crap being pedaled by the Washington Post for 50 years - and yet people continue to buy it. Even some freepers on this thread, lol.
I believe the “war monger” attacks go all the way back to Marx. Or Lenin. Anyway, long time ago.
such as the one earlier this month that brought the United States to the brink of war with Iran.
LOL! I mean REALLY !! LOL !!
There were three salient differences between John Kerry and W Bush:
- John Kerry joined a different branch, and not the reserves. W Bush - altho he joined the reserves rather than active military - was de facto active for a year to train up as a fighter pilot.
- John Kerry wanted to stay out of harms way, and applied for duty accordingly - but that duty turned out to take him into harms way. Bushs specialty was one which would have taken him into harms way, except for the particular aircraft he qualified on not being wanted in Vietnam. Bush volunteered for combat duty but, on that account, wasnt accepted.
- John Kerry was a year older, and therefore experienced the effect of Vietnam on the military differently due to changes in US policy. Bush was in the reserves, and qualified to fly/fight, at a time when the Air Force was withdrawing from Vietnam, and veteran combat pilots were transitioning to the National Guard.
It accordingly became hard to get flight time in competition with those veterans, and thus hard to stay qualified. It hadnt been hard to get into the TANG; that didnt require pull from GHWB - but it became hard to stay in as a qualified pilot because of the competition from the returning vets. For that reason W effectively phased himself out of the TANG which at that time was as convenient for the TANG as it was for himself.
Yes, of course.
You and me both. These hit piece authors sure know how to make Americans love President Trump even more.
Wile E. Coyotes, all.
Bingo ... and the stench has grown exponentially during the 8 year Obamaroid regime.
Its just so much easier to hate the Bushes rather then read all that!
You mean the generals support the democracy nation building neo conservatism of the Bush-Saudi cult?
Oh, so the generals don’t want the USA pulling out of stable democracies?
It was amazing how quickly Truman changed after ending the War in Japan. I am pretty sure he had an intervention too. There would be no Nuclear North Korea if he hadn’t of wussed out.
He had some type of Deep State intervention or discussions.
The article reads like a story, maybe the same authors that wrote Obama’s fictional biography?
Yes the author obviously has derision for America First. Too bad they didn’t prevail in 1915 and kept the USA out of Britain’s war.
The article reads like a story, maybe the same authors that wrote Obamas fictional biography?
Thanks for pointing this out.
Many if not most of these articles posing as fake news do read like fiction!
I agree - they really showed absolutely no respect for POTUS and his point of view - it’s like they thought they had to baby talk him. Incredibly condescending - IF true, that is.
I wonder how they feel about the killing of General Salami. I bet none of them would have had the guts. Trump thinks outside of the box - probably mostly unknown in DC.
A must to read the entire SCATHING article.
There will be a general and VERY THOROUGH house-cleaning throughout the entire federal government the day after DJT is re-elected!
He might wait until January 2, and give the losers a chance to resign/retire and get out of DC.
Add the CIA to the military and State, and you have the Deep State thugs, who hate America and endanger every active duty military person.
That is the Trump I voted for. Not Ivanka.
