My sources in Baghdad (government officials) say they have intelligence reports that there will be strikes in Baghdad very soon. But the Iranian-backed political parties don’t want to announce this to the public so they can still use citizens as human shields...

Contrary to a guided missile, rockets have a arc or trajectory if you prefer that term, and it is possible to use that arc and speed to compute its point of origination.
I read years ago that the military had a means of computing the origin of mortars.
“IF” that is correct, can the US do so?
why is it still called the green zone? who revokes the zoning color?
That or Iran wants to be able to say they forced the US out of Iraq instead of the Iraqis themselves.

You know we can, and this tech is available to our forces in harm’s way.
I suspect we have eyes in the sky going infrared, and we know exactly where these folks went.
You just don’t want to screw with the US military, unless you find 72 72 year old female virgins to be a worthwhile exit door prize.
