Hey idiots! There have been Iranian people, not citizens, in the US for a long time. Right now, Los Angeles (and Southern California in general) is home to a large Iranian-American community. With population estimates between 300,000 and half a million, Southern California boasts the largest concentration of Iranians in the world, outside of Iran.

Currently there are over 12,000 students country wide on visa and of all of the Iranians in the country are split with the largest accumulations in California, West Virginia, Texas, Washington State, Colorado, D.C., Pennsylvania, and the northeast states. Estimations of 1,000,000 and above are given by many Iranian and non-Iranian organisations, media, and others like the Congressional Research Service, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and MIT.

And they are just now becoming concerned about the problem? They had both their arms along with their heads in the sand. And possibly somewhere else.
