Boeing on Monday fired its chief executive, Dennis A. Muilenburg, whose handling of the companys 737 Max crisis had angered lawmakers, airlines, regulators and victims families.
The company said Dave Calhoun, the chairman, would replace Mr. Muilenburg on Jan. 13. Until then, Boeings chief financial officer, Greg Smith, will serve as interim chief executive, the company said.
The Boeing board made the decision on a call on Sunday, after a string of disastrous announcements for the company, according to two people briefed on the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. Mr. Muilenburg has stepped down effective immediately.

Should have fired the CEO who moved their HQ to Chicago...before he did it.
Yes! Answered prayer!
Boeings swamp needs to be drained ASAP
Good. In the past, Boeing would have addressed the problem and fixed it and carried on.
That has been bad Mojo for the company since they did that and talk about the taxes they are paying.
And just before Christmas.
Looks like only domestic luxury cars under the tree this year, kids.
About time.
Hes worth 80 million.
Praying for all the victims of the crashes and their families this Christmas. And the safety of all travelers.
Must’ve opened the third envelope.

IMHO, while this is a needed first step, it’s not going to really fix all their problems. Hopefully the next one to prepare the envelopes isn’t yet another swamp creature.
Fox Business reported that the man resigned
The 737Max was only part of the issue.
Other parts are the ongoing issues with the KC-46 program as well as the untested/unapproved* design modifications to the lightning protection system on the 787 Dreamliner.

*The changes were ultimately “approved” after Boeing appealed the decision (paid off the required bureaucrats and Congress critters).
Fire the boss and put his boss in charge. Sounds like a major cultural change. /s
Am I in before the Boeing social media team? Are they off this week for the holidays?
Entire board and upper management, Senior VPs and above ALL need to go.
YEAH!
Let Congress name the replacements to run Boeing!
YEAH!
I just figured since we are all being retarded I might as well join in.
How much was his golden parachute?
At the very least everyone who thought moving Boeing to Chicago was a good idea should be fired, though.
“Fox Business reported that the man resigned”
No one at that level is ever fired, they are asked to resign.
And hold the next star chamber meeting of DemonCraps on a Boeing space capsule. All Democrat Representatives and Senators to Cape Kennedy. The leadership will enter the first capsule. The others will wait on the launch pad for the next capsule.
Lift off!
Oh, my! Fried DemonCraps on the launch pad.
Oh, my! The capsule is off course. It’s crashing into the middle of the Atlantic.
Problems solved. Thank you Boeing.
