US on high alert for possible ‘Christmas gift’ missile from North Korea

U.S. officials are on high alert for signs of a possible missile launch from North Korea in the coming days that officials have referred to as a “Christmas gift.”

A significant launch or nuclear test would raise the end of North Korea's self-imposed moratorium on missile launches and tests. It would also be a major blow to one of President Trump’s major foreign policy goals to get North Korea back to the negotiating table to eliminate its nuclear weapons.

Earlier this month, the North conducted what U.S. officials say was an engine test. Experts believe it may have involved an engine for a long-range missile.

"North Korea has been advancing. It has been building new capabilities," said Anthony Wier, a former State Department official who tracks nuclear disarmament for the Friends Committee on National Legislation. "As long as that continues, they gain new capabilities to try new missiles to threaten us and our allies in new ways,"

North Korea warned of a possible "Christmas gift" in early December, saying the Trump administration was running out of time on nuclear negotiations, and it was up to the U.S. to choose what "Christmas gift" it gets from Pyongyang.

NORTH KOREA WARNS US COULD ‘PAY DEARLY’ FOR HUMAN RIGHTS CRITICISM

Victor Cha, a Korea expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said a review of the possible launch sites in North Korea shows they are a "basically ready to go."

Defense Secretary Mark Esper told reporters earlier this week that the U.S. has heard all the talk of a possible upcoming test around Christmas.

This is a DIRECT result of the 24/7/365 attacks upon our President by the Deep State/Dems/MSM/Entertainment Industry.

I agree.

So do I. Something called an UnAmerican activity. And traitorous actions. Whether in a strictly legal sense or not.

This is what happens when the Democrats smear President Trump with a fake impeachment.

America's under age 50 people can be completely confused and ignorant such as "I don't get it. Saw Trump on TV again. Thought they impeached him and he was in federal prison now."

Then the 24/7 CNN TV news as the ONLY source of news about America in many countries.

And the insulated and fact-starved Communist country of North Korea may think "Aha, the palace in DC will be raided shortly by Dem commandoes and they will remove Orangeman by force. Just like Middle Eastern and Asian countries change leaders. On Christmas all soldiers and police will be home like on that Sunday for Pearl Harbor. News media is already under communist control."

Good Point

the fruits of sedition

the communist democrat party welcomes any threat to democracy and would take this as a win especially if it makes Trump look bad in the "news"

Now Trump tries to end things peacefully, and they slam him as if he was foolish to try.

Exactly! If he goes apesh** over an ambiguous message like this he is "unstable" etc. If he doesn't he is letting NK "get away" with something.

There were some high altitude spy flights over NK after the NK govt. Christmas present statement, so it's not evident that helped them.

Obama would have sent the NoRKs pallets of cash and a couple nuclear reactors to quiet them down. Probably would have bowed to Li’l Kim too, or knelt in front of him.

The world is always more dangerous for Americans when democrats “seize control” of the government.

A North Korean slush fund established exclusively for Kim Jong Un’s use could be running out of money, according to a Japanese press report.

Tokyo Shimbun reported Monday “Fund No. 216,” a stash of money the North Korean leader inherited from father Kim Jong Il, retains less than $1 billion. When Kim Jong Un inherited the fund, it was worth about $4 billion to $5 billion. A North Korean source told the Japanese news service the cause of the decline in funds is international sanctions.

That is why China and Russia are doing this:

Former North Korean Premier Pak Pong-ju, considered No. 3 in Pyongyang's power hierarchy, was absent from a key Workers’ Party meeting for the second day in a row, spurring speculation about what happened to him.

My guess: This is bad news. He is not in agreement with Kim about the next step (Pak is promoting better relations with the West according to a little bird)
