But apparently states can nullify the constitution :)
Because that’s what’s been going on forever with the 2nd amendment.
“Well the forefathers didn’t know there would be such powerful weapons created!!” is the argument.
And the forefathers would have said “well then the people MUST have access to those or they could not effectively fight tyranny!!”
Or as the little known Italian signer of the Declaration of Independence said “What the #$##’S the matter with you, that’s so self evident. Oh!!” :)

We'll see how that works when local sheriff's and their deputies all band together to oppose state edicts. And if these sheriffs have deputized their populace, we're talking about a massive army.
State level civil war?
The Left needs to take a deep breath and back off, or it IS going to get ugly. Citizens take their Amendment protections seriously.
This is not a threat by me. I don't live there.
Reality is a bitch.

States are powerless against this.
If the national guard is called out by the governor, Trump will nationalize them at once.
That will be the end of the unConstitutional threat.

If the confiscatory laws are passed in January and signed by the governor, there needs to be an immediate move to sue and file for an injunction while this is litigated. Otherwise, the crazies will move against Virginians who have been turned into instant felons.
