Subtitle: The World Economic Forum's report measured the gender gap in 153 countries across politics, economics, health and education.
Women have to wait a while for equal pay, a new report says - roughly until the year 2277.
At the current rate of change, the gender gap in economic participation and opportunity won't close for another 257 years, up from 202 years in last year's estimate, according to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report, published Tuesday.
The report measured the gender gap across economics, politics, education and health and ranked 153 countries on their closeness to gender equality across those four categories. The time needed to close the gender gap in all four categories went down to 99.5 years for the countries that the report has evaluated every year since its inception in 2006.
Iceland was recognized as the most gender-equal country for the eleventh year in a row. Other Nordic countries - including Norway, Finland and Sweden - and Nicaragua rounded out the top five. Yemen ranked lowest on the list.
The United States fell two spots from last year to rank 53rd on the list, although 101 of the countries assessed increased their scores from last year.

Those leap years are a bitch.
Doesn’t matter.
Global climate change will have destroyed the Earth long before that!
Well, in 12 years, according to them, we’re either going to all be gone or living (sustainably) in caves. So, no worries.
This report is obviously wrong. It will be 256.14857 years. Or maybe 258.86575 years. No way it’s 257.0. Do they even math? Don’t they know it’s more sciencey if you add decimals?
Well by that time we’re supposed to all be dead from climate change. So I wouldn’t sweat it.
Too bad, so sad.
I’ll take “Recycling Disproved Tropes” for $200, Alex!
when enough men become women and vice versa, that problem will dissapear
This canard has been thoroughly and indisputably refuted dozens of times.
25 years?
Someone has underestimated the power of pu$$y.
How many years until women stop having and raising children?
God bless them for doing so, but family demands interrupt careers, limiting seniority and the the acquisition of work knowledge that then limits pay.
Women should work longer days and be more valuable to a company. No way a company is going to let a valuable employee go over a few dollars.
Or, they can shut up, build their own business and pay themselves whatever they want.
IT’S a FREE country. At least until January 2021.
Here is an old saying I learned a long time ago...Women control half the money in the world, but all of the pu$$y...
My question.
If women earn less than men, why would any business hire a man?
Are they figuring in successful men who identify as women?
I don’t even have to wonder how much money the World Economic Forum (WEF, WTF?) spent on this study/report. Automatically, it was a lot.
With the amounts of money spent on psychology, sociology and science-falsely-so-called — in just the past 10 years alone — many true scientific breakthroughs might have been achieved. In reality though, the money saved would have probably been spent on something equally stupid.
Women control half the money in the world, but all of the pu$$y..>>>>>>
Agreed
And as has been said on the big screen:
“Its my dooty to serve that booty.” ( grin)
So there averaging in all working women. Those whod prefer to stay home with kids.....but economically cant?
The whole thing is rigged. First they change (or try to change) everything about our society and many women and men are not interested in this Marxist generated brave new world. Then they plug the numbers in based on what they assume is normal.
So friggin bogus the whole thing.
