But on Jan. 1, the Utah-based faith will deliver the latest blow to the struggling organization when it pulls out more than 400,000 young people and moves them into a new global program of its own.

I led a group of Scouts to the bi-annual Blair Athol jamborette in 2000. (http://www.jamborette.org.uk/ ) At the time, only the Philippines and the US had boys only Scouting. I led a breakout group to talk with the Scouts about the differences in Scouting around the world. The main thing is that all these Socialist countries removed God from the Scout Oath.
I am not Mormon. The assault on Scouting is an attack on Christianity. They won. You need to open your eyes.
I feel fortunate that I was an Indian Guide. The Young Men’s Christian Association’s Indian Guides program strengthened family and social relationships and fostered a positive outlook on moral issues.
Even though it taught young people to appreciate America’s Indian heritage and engaged in charitable activities such as toy drives for needy American Indian children, the program was shut down some years ago for being “racist.”
Knights of Columbus (Roman Catholic) ended their relationship with BSA recently as well.
Around here, YMCA went Woke about 15 years ago and rejected that 'racist' identity. Please use the politically correct "Adventure Guides and Princesses"
On the other hand, the Boy Scouts are pulling girls away from the pro-Abortion Girl Scouts.
Any organization not explicitly right-wing, becomes left-wing over time.
BSA owns vast REAL ESTATE holdings, typically gifted from well-intended rich folks. Typical con job. Charity leadership taken over by CROOKS who kill it and feed on the assets. Make stink, watch em run and cash out the assets cheap to your syndicate. Simple .
As of 2013, there were more than 430,000 Latter-day Saint boys in the Boy Scouts, per The Salt Lake Tribune.
The Mormon church announced it would stop sponsoring Boy Scout Troops back in May of 2018. The effective date is December 31, 2019. It’s sad to see this happen. I think it harms both institutions. The church and Boy Scouts have actually had some pretty strong disagreements going back a long time. I was surprised it didn’t happen sooner.
I attended training at Philmont where there were several very active Mormon leaders.
It will be interesting to see if the BSA units remain as active troops but under non Mormon Sponsoring institutions.
That is, any Church or group can take over as sponsoring institution of the troop and all the membership remain as is.
They won’t be BSA troops/packs any longer, but something other.

The LDS Church made the decision nearly a year ago, but it is just now going into effect January 1st.
