Why The IG Report On FISA Abuse Will Unleash Barr’s Investigation Of Spygate
The Federalist ^ | June 7, 2019 | Margot Cleveland

Posted on 12/13/2019 12:09:29 PM PST by Baynative

For the last month, conservative pundits have predicted the ever-imminent dropping of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on his investigation into the circumstances surrounding FISA surveillance of former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page. Horowitz’s report will likely provide new and damaging details surrounding the FBI’s use of the FISA court to spy on Page. More importantly, the conclusion of Horowitz’s probe frees Barr to conduct a broader and more exacting investigation into all aspects of the Russia collusion hoax.

This article is from last June and it brought a couple of thoughts to mind about what has transpired since.

1. The report was soon to be released every month since last April.

2. What was finally delivered is about as milquetoast an effort to protect the deep state and it's criminal actors as anyone could have imagined.

I've been looking for the cost of the report and how big the Horowitz Staff was and I have found nothing.
I know this to be true - THIS GREAT WEBSITE AND IT'S USERS could have done a better job in just a couple of days.
I know more from the posts I've seen here than Horowitz does (or is willing to reveal) after 22 months of investigation.

Unless I missed it he never mentioned the conversation between Strzok and Page about having a crooked FISC Judge over for dinner to get him on board for spying on Trump.

Also he failed to mention dirty cop Robert Mueller telling George Papadopoulos' wife that she should dump him because he was going to prison for a long time and she could be in trouble herself.

Those are just two points that came to mind immediately.

May her prediction of the report opening the door to a real investigation now come true.

Both provable facts?

Yep - Strzok and Page planned the dinner with judge when they were plotting to frame Michael Flynn.

GP's wife told of the Mueller conversation in a TV interview and again on radio

Just despicable.

Weismann (sic). The slimy bahstid who has left a slimy trail of wreckage and unethically destroyed lives and enterprises for 3 or more decades. Mueller’s head stooge.

Trump needs to ask Barr who he needs to question in the impeachment hearing. There must be a common link in the swamp.

I disagree with your opinions, but thanks for posting this because I hadnt’ read the part from Barr’s interview about how it is customary to put the investigations on hold while the IG is doing his work.

Sessions was following internal policy by not having investigators at work until the IG was finished. It is impossible to say what he might or might not have done had he stayed in the job, but it is clear the AG Barr is doing exactly the right thing going forward.

Horowitz has a staff of about 500 people who do all kinds of investigations and have published many reports during the past 2 years. You can confirm this at the DOJ website although I haven’t seen specifics as to how many were tasked to this report. Since it is part of his internal budget and since those people would have been paid to investigate “something” anyway, there was not incremental cost to the taxpayer, unlike the Mueller team which was all outside of normal budgets and had to be paid out of some contingency fund.

I hope Barr and Durham have had this information for months and come out with a flock of criminal indictments of filthy democrats on Christmas Eve. Amen.

Horowitz works for the Democrats. Go back and watch him smirk repeatedly during questioning.

Agreed. I had him on mute and watched his body language during questioning. He played Mueller, agreeing and occasionally smiling when answering Dems, but looking skeptical and nonplussed or non-cooperative when questioned by Repubs.

I am interested in the $10,000 given to Papa in Italy. When he arrived in the US some very hostile FBI agents were there looking for the money. They demanded he produce the $10,000 given to him, but he had given it to his attorney in Italy for safe keeping.

Barr and Durham went on a road trip to Italy, Britain and Australia. Do you think they met with Papa's attorney? Do you think they have the SN on the bills and know exactly where they came from?

While they can never be fully compensated for that, they should be well compensated in a settlement.

Just appalling.

RE: "Do you think they have the SN on the bills and know exactly where they came from?"

I certainly hope so. I've got that point in my notes for something I want to keep an eye on.
