First it’s not porn stash; it’s porn ‘stache.
On another forum frequented by many veterans a call-sign of “porn ‘stache” is considered to be a very good call-sign. Our dead muslim failed to understand he was be complemented in an off-hand manner typical of the military.
A note from experience as both a former naval flight officer (NFO) and later a naval aviator (pilot): The Saudis send members of the royal family to pilot training. They tend to be better educated, more Westernized, and less inclined to commit terrorist acts (they just pay for them).

The Saudis send less educated, lower socioeconomic status, non-royals to train as NFOs. This group tends to be less Westernized and more hostile to civil society. Not surprised ‘Porn Stash,’ a student NFO, did what he did.

Agree it’s dangerous to train any Muzzies on American soil. They have become more & more radicalized over the past 50+ years. If we’re going to continue to sell U.S. weapons systems to the Saudis, any associated training should be done in country or at a third site.

Dude - I spent 32 years in the military working for special and joint ops of all kinds and working with all branches. I loathe the military that folks such as yourself have turned my military into. And YES - I ended that sentence with a preposition. It's the sort of low-brow thinking that gets things done.
I watched this transition of our beloved services - from when I enlisted under Reagan in 1987 - until I retired just last year in November of 2018. There were GOOD things that happened, things such as women not being harassed needlessly. But there were idiotic things that happened too - such as the creation of the snowflake military where a man could lose a career because he's trying to put some toughness into a weak man that he knows won't survive the first sound of gunfire in a combat situation...and sometimes a little public humiliation is the best way to knock an attitude out of a person.
ESPECIALLY these entitled Saudi pilots - who I spent time with over at PSAB and at other places - a bunch of entitled pricks (extensions of the royal family mostly) who think their you know what doesn't stink. The jumped in their F-15s and flew on afterburner over the desert for 10 minutes straight and RTB. That's all they did. Flew fast and acted like a bunch of rich spoiled brats.
And that is probably EXACTLY what this guy was acting like in class. So if a little public humiliation was due - then so be it. And if you don't understand that an instructor shouldn't be given that latitude and you don't understand that the POLITICS we live in wouldn't give that instructor the option to throw that snarky prick out of the course - I can't help you. He was probably left with no other alternative than to check his attitude with a little verbal slap every once in a while.

For better or worse, this is the culture of the US military. Those who can’t cope should not join. My BIL was a Navy pilot; his call sign was a fine example of bathroom humor.
The problem is that Saudis come from an honor culture. Americans are far more egalitarian, and take liberties that Saudis find offensive. As a visitor and stranger, it’s Mohammed’s duty to fit in. Grin and bear it, or else get the hell out of my country.
Yeah, maybe American military instructors should be more culturally sensitive and behave like perfect gentlemen. And muslim foreigners should get over themselves and not default to mass murder because their cultural expectations have been disappointed and they feel dissed.
The ones to blame here are first the muslims who don’t belong here, and second, the Americans who keep inviting them.
We had ANOTHER guy who's callsign was "Skin" because his last name was "FORE."

The real problem is, as I pointed out in my post above, is that most Saudi pilots come from the extended Saudi Royal family. I was stationed over there twice. Every single one of those pilots was a real prick. They reminded me of Omega frat boys from the movie Animal House - SMUG and ARROGANT. The commander of the lat base I was at was a prince. Most of the pilots were related somehow.
They would take off in their F-15's and fly 10-15 minute missions - on full afterburner. Burn the fuel and come back and land. That's all they knew to do - fly fast over the desert and come home.
So - this guy got offended not only because of honor - but because he's "somebody" and this instructor is a nobody. It's the "don't you know who I am" syndrome.
The best policy is just keep them as far away from our shores as we can and that includes the millions of Devil worshiping Allah-followers already here. Unfortunately for us and our peace and domestic tranquility, it is way too late for that.
We were living in 10 man tents. I had to get up at 4:00 AM to decrypt the Air Tasking Order for the day. Thought I would be nice to my tent mates and not turn on the light so they could sleep in peace.
Well laundry had been hung up after I had hit the rack. I literally closed lined myself in the dark. This caused me to loose my balance causing me to place my hand on a still hot tent heater. Jumping away from the cause of the pain had me run into a small folding table that I tripped over. This broke the table and spilled everything that was on it.
Once everything had settled down, a voice in the dark said, “Way to go stealth.” This was followed by laughter from everyone in the tent and “Stealth” became my call sign.
Can’t help but smile anytime I hear the word “stealth”.
As was mentioned, you do not get to pick your call sign and they are not given because of something brave or cool that you have done.
Coppernut was the weirdest one I got. Some strange abomination of my name. Bestowed upon me by a guy named Buddah.
