The Saudi national who killed three people during last weeks shooting spree at Naval Air Station Pensacola filed a complaint against one of his instructors earlier this year alleging that he had called him Porn Stash a nickname that infuriated him, a report says.
Mohammed Alshamrani, who prepared the document with the help of two American classmates, according to The New York Times, claimed teacher James Day labeled him with the term at the end of a meteorology class in April.
In the complaint, Alshamrani wrote that Day was asking about 10 students around the room if they had any questions before dismissal. When he turned to Alshamrani, Day allegedly addressed him as Porn Stash.
Laughing, he continued to ask, What? Have you not seen a porn star before? Alshamrani reportedly wrote in the complaint. After I did not respond, he just let go of the subject.
The nickname is a reference to the stereotype that adult male film stars have mustaches. It was spelled "porn stash" as opposed to "porn 'stache" in the official complaint.
I was infuriated as to why he would say that in front of the class, the Times quoted Alshamrani as saying.
Day is employed by Delaware Resource Group of Oklahoma, subcontractor to CAE USA, which offers instruction to aviation students in the civilian and military fields, according to the newspaper.
Following the alleged incident, Alshamrani reported it to CAE USAs managers, The New York Times says. The company offered to have Day apologize, but Alshamrani rejected that proposal and instead talked with an office in the Navy that handles international students, the newspaper added, citing a person who spoke with Alshamrani after he filed the complaint.
That same person said numerous government employees believed Day should be disciplined, yet he continued to teach.

It's wildly inappropriate and unprofessional to mock or publicly humiliate a student in front of others.
LOL, welcome to the U.S. Military.
Well, you don’t choose your own call sign.
It is not appropriate, but “wildly”? Just a bit of kidding.
Obviously CNN will blame the instructor.
“It’s wildly inappropriate and unprofessional to mock or publicly humiliate a student in front of others.”
The last couple years of the Fraud’s illegal reign, I was hearing recruiting radio commercials telling me that the US military would meet my “emotional needs”.
I suppose the Officer and a Gentleman movie is now a no-no for associating mayonaise with the main character’s name.
Most American men would take this in stride and even find humor in it.
Right, Fruit Loops.
My drill instructors had some epic names for our bootcamp people.
Were you ever in the military?
I bet you pee sitting down.
A "porn stash" would be a collection of porno books and or videos stored in a secret location.
We all had nicknames in the military. Some not so flattering. This guy was a Jihadi. Nothing less.
Happened in April. This attack was not caused by fuming over the name.
Not the worst call sign or nickname that I have heard ...
And, somehow, hurt feelings justifies murder of innocent people? I guess that is religious dogma of many brands of Islam and our own “PC feelings uber All” crowd as well.
muzzies think that anger is an appropriate response to any slight, no matter how minor.
But he did..
