I looked for other posts and found none.

So this is my weekend offering as a break from impeachment nonsense. I found it to be a useful tool to debate a bit with some 'warmists' I know.

Thanks for your posts.

We can’t pound these people enough. Maybe they’ll take one for humanity and off themselves. They are SUBHUMAN.

We used to pass maybe 4 cars on the 20 mile trip to town. Now days, it’s bumper to bumper and slow going.

United States This map of the United States was made by Jishai Evers of dadaviz, a site that put out some great data visualizations before being acquired by Vocativ late last year.

Of the United States’ 3,142 counties, just 144 account for half of the population.

Note that the data is five years old, nevertheless, looks very similar to a red county/blue county election map.

Back in the day it was said that the entire population of the world could fit into the State of TX. I did the math, and it seems me each person would have 9 square feet or real estate.

One thing to bear in mind is how much land is neither arable nor inhabitable without special and expensive accommodations.

LOL! Yeah, I’ve searched for things to with no results then got a 3 day suspension from the mod. Reason: learn to search.
No annotation about which post I allegedly didn’t search for. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. NOT overcrowded but we’re managing to kill muvver erf anyway.

Population density is only the tip of the iceberg. The problem is that the land available for farming is limited, therefore the amount of food to feed people is finite. The seas provide some food.

Then there is the land able to be homes to people. That's finite, too.

The 50/50 maps are interesting, especially ones like Canada where half the population is tucked into the most southern section, as I guess one might expect.

I spent 3 weeks this summer driving the American Midwest (8,000 mile drive).
It’s staggering how much empty land there is in this country. Beautiful too.
Anyone complaining about “overcrowding” should be dragged by the nose out thru Kansas, up thru Colorado/Wyoming/Montana, and back thru South Dakota et al toward St Louis.
With modern technology, about the only things lacking to live in these vast spaces is water and data - with rain/snow collection & purification being a thing, and SpaceX’s Starlink system about to bring high-speed low-latency Internet to everywhere.

“Overcrowding” is simply a matter of people insisting on living where others are willing to pay more to.

Way too many people for me. I used to lie awake at night and wait a looong time for a car to go down our little state highway. Now I even see cars go by at 0300. The traffic runs at the rate of at least one a minute on average most of the time now.

The average quality of people has also gone way down.

We took a drive through the western states of Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Montana about 2 months ago to visit the national parks in those states.

What made a big impression to us besides the beauty of those parks was the vast stretches of unpopulated spaces we drove through.

People who complain about us running out of space never leave the megalopolises they inhabit. And if truth be told despite their bitching and moaning they actually love those crowded urban spaces. They wouldn’t know what to do without their lattes, internet cafes, and all the world’s conveniences.

I think water and food is the main problem. Obviously we have the land, but resources are needed for increased population.
