Speaking during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday morning, George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley called out Democrats and fellow members of the panel for moving forward with impeachment because "everyone is mad."
I get it. You're mad. The President's mad. My Republican friends are mad. My Democratic friends are mad. My wife is mad. My kids are mad. Even my dog seems mad and Luna is a golden-doodle and they don't get mad. So, we're all mad. Where has it taken us? Will a slipshod impeachment make us less mad or will it only give an invitation for the madness to follow in every future administration? That is why this is wrong...it's wrong because this is not how you impeach and American president," Turley argued, adding that the evidence Democrats are using is severely lacking, the process is rushed and that a number of witnesses haven't been subpoenaed.
"I am concerned about lowering impeachment standards to fit a paucity of evidence and an abundance of anger. If the House proceeds solely on the Ukrainian allegations, this impeachment would stand out among modern impeachments as the shortest proceeding, with the thinnest evidentiary record, and the narrowest grounds ever used to impeach a president. That does not bode well for future presidents who are working in a country often sharply and, at times, bitterly divided, he said.
And by the way, Turley isn't a Republican and voted against President Trump in 2016.
I'm not a supporter of President Trump. I voted against him. My personal and political views of President Trump are irrelevant to my impeachment testimony, as they should be to your impeachment vote," he continued. As I have previously written, such misuses of impeachment would convert our process into a type of no-confidence vote of Parliament. Impeachment has become an impulse buy item in our raging political environment.
You can watch his entire opening statement below.

That he is a witness called by Republicans does not make him a Republican.
The key words there are "retribution on massive scale". I don't want to imagine how normal, decent Americans would react to the corrupt elites overturning a free and fair election simply because, for the first time since President Ronald Reagan, an insider didn't win.
And that's exactly what's at stake here.
President Trump may just be our last best hope at any kind of push-back due to not only his political/national positions, but also his fight back and fight back hard nature.
Listening to what the current group of (D) presidential candidates want to do to our country should scare the crap out of everyone who isn't a progressive/socialist/communist/fascist.
The differences are no longer somewhat minor or even moderate.
It's really quite remarkable what's happened to nearly 1/2 the population in this country in the last ~10 years (w/the election of Soebarkah...twice), especially last 3 years (w/the election of Trump to push back/MAGA).
Gone completely anti: America, Constitution, rule of law, "old" "white" "male," just common decency and on and on.
Every Conservative and clear thinking Republican, "Independent" and old school "blue dog" Democrat better understand this come elections next year and actually get out there and vote to re-elect him. No sitting on the sidelines this round.
Don’t get mad get even.
That is the end of it. Been waiting for a statement like this. After such, like the past when such statements are made in front of a out of control bunch in congress, the issue seems to disappear like a fart in the breeze.
Will it this time? They have to ignore it at their own peril.
Bump!
“Speaking during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday morning,”
How many were in attendance, I wonder?
For later.
This is not a Fl 93 Election. It is a Battle of Britain Election... A Stalingrad Election
Bee Ess. I’ve heard Turley himself describe his political outlook as DemocRat.
Fail.
Long after the shallow and faulty reckonings mouthed by politicians looking for face time on television have faded away, that Being recognized by America's Founders and Framers of its Constitution will remain, and those who understand the nature of what some have called "the miracle of America," will have been reminded that liberty has its roots deep in the philosophy of that Declaration, and that, perhaps, this is a testing time of the founding philosophy which must be met with strength and resolve to pass on the ideas of liberty to future generations.
In case you missed it
This doesnt end any way except in bloodshed.
Lots and lots of bloodshed.
And then reality has a way of biting their ass. And, to make it worse, it holds on for 8 long years.
Think we will tire of winning by then?
