The Democrats are playing a very, very dangerous game with the American people. They need to be aware of the law of unintended consequences.

Do the idiot dems believe that the American Patriots will allow them to succeed?

If republicans dont back trump. They are toast. The party will not vote for RINOs if Trump were to lose. There would not be another republican President for decades.

Notice how McConnell's first instinct is to follow the rules, and the Democrats' first instinct is to exploit "loopholes?"

Republicans need to push for dismissal based on the sham process used in the House, the lack of direct witness testimony, and the lack of a high crime.

This is just Dem pot stirring. They’re encouraging the Never Trumpers to draw the GOP into intra party fight in the middle of election season instead of engaging the coup.

Are you a betting person? If so hat sort of odds are you giving?

I would also like to see a list naming the Senators and States they represent who will be voting against Trump in the Senate.

I have myself tried to come up with 20 Republican Senators who would vote to convict and cannot get past 5 or 6 and some of those are long shots to convict.

Thanks for your expected response.

I think they would go along with this if the Dems have dirt on them and they don’t want it exposed.

I think the plan is to just move this to the Senate and start leaning on the Republicans.

People are confident that Trump will never be removed, but it would be incredibly damaging if he were simply impeached. (Imagine news articles, headlines, and liberal talking-heads all beginning with the words, “Impeached President Trump...”.)

Based on the information that the House has now, an impeachment wouldn’t simply be spiteful and unwarranted, it would definitively mark a descent in our body politic; our Republic would take generations to recover from it (assuming we even could).

Doesn’t work

if all vote, it would take 20 Repubs to vote yes to remove, a 67 to 33 vote

if those 20 sit out instead, then the vote is 47 to 33, which is only 58.75%.

It would take 30 repubs sitting out, to get a 47 to 23 vote enough for a two thirds removal vote

"The Democrats are playing a very, very dangerous game with the American people."

I was thinking the same thing this morning. Odd that they would pull this before they de-armed the populace - they are crazy, but not stupid.

I think the population would still burn DC to the ground. If we cannot vote in a president without an opposing political party using parliamentary procedure to remove our votes, then we no longer have a country and that party should not benefit from their actions.

I don’t. Look how well Rip Van Sessions is polling. Normalcy bias reigns. There is only one army fighting this political war.

We saw the same nonsense with all those idiotic reports about removing the President under the 25th Amendment, too.

If Bush had conceded to Gore in 2000, Gore would have become president, not Dick Cheney. So whoever responded by saying what you quoted didn’t know what they were talking about.

It won’t happen but Sperry is saying Dems in Senate are telling Republicans that.

Personally I am uneasy about the constant refrain that the Senate wont remove. Too much invested behind the scenes by Trump haters.

It not only would be the end of the Republican Party, it would be the end of the country....

Right now we are on a cliff about to jump off into the abyss...

Look at all the major cases involving politicians and the powerful...

Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously dies and likely so will the case against him and all the perverts including Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew walk free never having to answer for their crimes.

Trump Impeachment, remove him and destroy the country..

FBI/CIA spying on Trump, you have the power of the Federal Government used to spy on and attempt to destroy and later remove from office a duly elected President...I have zero confidence anyone will be punished in this case...

It adds up to a blatant disregard for any laws with no one getting punished, at this point does it really matter who is President...we are gone as a country...

Trump caught the Democrats completely off guard last week when he came out and publicly demanded that they impeach him -- because he insists he "wants a trial!" He even got angry the other day when someone suggested the Democrats in the House might avoid this scenario by censuring him instead of impeaching him.

The GOP is setting fundraising records right now in the midst of all this bullsh!t. Anyone who thinks they're going to have 25-30 of them walk away from a Senate trial is delusional.
