Republicans need to push for dismissal based on the sham process used in the House,

McConnell needs to start hearings NOW! Get Shiffty on the stand tomorrow along with the whistleblower and accomplices.

And if they refuse to show up, then dismiss the sham before it even reaches the Senate.

If it goes to the Senate, Trump is done.

No, not even close. How about a friendly wager to donate $25 to FR? I donate if you’re right, you donate if you’re wrong.

I doubt that will come to pass. They would never win another election for the rest of their days if they did.

The GOP is definitely united. I really do NOT see any of them voting to impeach. They might grandstand, and show their disfavor, (ie Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Lee, etc.), but in the end they’ll not vote to impeach.

You, Code Toad, and several others are right on target.

There is no such thing as a bloodless coup. The conspirators merely fool themselves into thinking it is bloodless. It sometimes takes awhile, but usually their blood gets spilled in the end.

I would imagine that assassination would become the order of the day if the Deep State were to pull this off. Their members would be the first to go - at the hands of the Deep State. The opposition’s bullets would follow soon after.

“It would be the end of the Republican Party.”

Yep. There that line is again.

It would also mean that it would be the end of the country as we have known it, but evidently that is not nearly as important as the end of the Republican party.

No.. he's not. He'll be fine.

I believe that is incorrect. There's no "concession" written anywhere in the U.S. Constitution.

Are you telling me that if Donald Trump conceded the election to Hillary Clinton after he had won 300+ electoral votes, then she would have become President? I don't think so.

Section 3 of the 20th Amendment would almost certainly dictate the scenario in this case.

What happens if that “present” is taken so literally, then “shall not be infringed” has to be taken just as literally.

Doesn’t work

if all vote, it would take 20 Repubs to vote yes to remove, a 67 to 33 vote

if those 20 sit out instead, then the vote is 47 to 33, which is only 58.75%.

It would take 30 repubs sitting out, to get a 47 to 23 vote enough for a two thirds removal vote

Hmmmm .... actual facts and accompanying analysis. PARTY POOPER!

I see no reason the GOP couldn’t do the same with this, as it did with the Iran treaty deal. Rather than require 2/3rds to ratify the deal, they passed a bill inverting the “approval” process into a “disapproval” one.

It not only would be the end of the Republican Party, it would be the end of the country....

Right now we are on a cliff about to jump off into the abyss...

Except we aren’t yet. This country is the frog boiling in water. Most people don’t follow the news closely. They don’t have angst over the Uniparty coup. Times are good. Business is booming. Behind most every “man with a gun” is a woman who will cut off the sugar if he decides its time for CW2 due to the coup. The coup will continue until November 2020 and then Trump will either win or lose. I wish people cared more but they don’t. It is what it is.

Now is the time for Trump Organization security folks (forget the criminal FBI) to dig up and prepare files of all of the financial, criminal and sexual secrets of all the NeverTrumpers (and Trump-haters who pretend otherwise, like Lindsay Graham) to use as leverage. This is when Trump needs to draw on his history of dealing with mob-run construction syndicates in NYC.

If you sit out, you vote to impeach Trump. It will be the end of this country as we know it.

I’ve said it before the best thing Trump has going for him is the fact that Mitt and Linda are both up in 20.
