One of the nation’s largest gay advocacy organizations is greeting Chick-Fil-A’s divestment from Christian charities like the Salvation Army with tepid praise and further demands, including an “unequivocal” denunciation of the brand’s history and values.
GLAAD (whose name is an acronym for its former title, “Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation”) demanded “safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees” and an apparent denunciation of the Christian ministry Focus on the Family, responding to Chick-Fil-A’s decision to stop donating to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program for needy children and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which serves historically black colleges and universities (HCBUs).
The full statement from Drew Anderson, GLAAD’s director of campaigns and rapid response, names more steps the fast-food chain must take to prove its genuine repentance:
"If Chick-Fil-A is serious about their pledge to stop holding hands with divisive anti-LGBTQ activists, then further transparency is needed regarding their deep ties to organizations like Focus on the Family, which exist purely to harm LGBTQ people and families.
Chick-Fil-A investors, employees, and customers can greet today’s announcement with cautious optimism, but should remember that similar press statements were previously proven to be empty.
In addition to refraining from financially supporting anti-LGBTQ organizations, Chick-Fil-A still lacks policies to ensure safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees and should unequivocally speak out against the anti-LGBTQ reputation that their brand represents."

Don’t know about the other organization, but damn them for dumping the Salvation Army. I have been volunteering in disaster relief since 1992 - hurricane Andrew. In every one of these events the SA has been offering help at the core of the destruction. OTOH, the American Red Cross is little more than a self serving fund raising juggernaut. Examples:
1/ In Andrew, the Red Cross set up on the west side of the expressway leading from the airport to the disaster in Homestead. Brightly illuminated big white tents, shiny new trucks, giant flag, PR people everywhere. The Salvation Army was in the middle of the mess serving meals. If you tried to talk to them, all you could get was a “we’re really busy serving lunch to 1,000 people; please call the home office”.
2/ In the 2013 Colorado floods, our group was first on scene in two small communities. Activated in the evening as the waters were rising rapidly, we were set up and running by 11 pm. At 0500 the Salvation Army was set up and offering breakfast - they had driven through the night from Grand Junction - 290 miles away. The Red Cross made it up from Denver 4 days later, handed out shovels and brooms, and spent the sunny afternoon in the town square sipping their drinks.

We already know appeasement doesn’t work with these nuts. No matter what you concede, they will also find more to demand. Hell, they are already insisting that straight men have sex with male transsexuals.
Everyone who was mocked for their concern about the “homosexual agenda” 15 years ago should be vindicated now.
Apologies are used as currency by the left, never accepted but leveraged against the “sorry” party by degrees.

CFA likely just made one of the biggest blunders in business history.
Look for their rapid decline.
And that really stinks for their very talented and loyal local franchise owners. They were betrayed.
I’ve been telling myself, I really have to have lunch at Chik Fil A sometime.
And, now I don’t.
I’ll put the money in a Salvation Army bucket instead.

The nearest CFA to me is in the food court of a shopping mall. It is out of my way. I occasionally patronized them in support of free speech. I'm not going out of my way to avoid them, but I won't go out of my way to eat at a CFA, either.
I've decided to give the $50 or so that I might spend there annually to the Salvation Army.
(The paper that McDonald's hamburgers are wrapped in may be healthier to eat than the hamburgers. At least CFA won't kill me.)

The problem with some organizations who identify as Christian is that they do not understand hatred.
A company like CFA does not make it their business to understand that when they publicly avow Christianity they take on the enemy who will intend to destroy them
They could take a lesson from the sisters of the poor who know the enemy. They will never give in.

The money the Salvation Army will (justifiably) make out of this ‘episode’ will be through the roof. The money they got from Chick-a-fill was next to nothing, maybe 0.001% of Chick-a-fill’s revenues.
If the Left was trying to starve out the Salvation Army until they buckled, they picked a crappy target in Chick-a-fill.
It makes my head spin how rapidly the Scouts descended into utter irrelevancy once they caved on the boy membership requirement of not claiming a “gay” identity. Very soon afterwards, homosexuals leaders were approved, then cross dressers, then the “boy” was completely removed.
Now, the vultures which demanded all of this are turning a blind eye to their defense against numerous sexual assault accusations, committed by THEM.
Of course it’s not enough.
Nothing short of complete capitulation and reparations and putting themselves out of business, and hanging the owners in effigy will suffice for the LGBT crowd.
I apologize if someone has said it but this situation shows how bad greed is. CFA had it all. But it wasn’t enough. Now they will pay the price.
