Smuggling gangs in Mexico have repeatedly sawed through new sections of President Trumps border wall in recent months by using commercially available power tools, opening gaps large enough for people and drug loads to pass through, according to U.S. agents and officials with knowledge of the damage.
The breaches have been made using a popular cordless household tool known as a reciprocating saw that retails at hardware stores for as little as $100. When fitted with specialized blades, the saws can slice through one of the barriers steel-and-concrete bollards in a matter of minutes, according to the agents, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the barrier-defeating techniques.
After cutting through the base of a single bollard, smugglers can push the steel out of the way, allowing an adult to fit through the gap. Because the bollards are so tall and are attached only to a panel at the very top their length makes them easier to push aside once they have been cut and are left dangling, according to engineers consulted by The Washington Post.

WaPo cheerleading for the wall to fail.
Electrify it.
Washington Post is advertising this because they want the barrier to fail.
Similar investigations should be made of the barriers protecting the Washington Post.
If true, that is a design flaw. This could be entirely made up through.
Then we fix it and make the design better.
Brilliant.
Not good.
Are the editors of the WaPo this dumb?
Even with a hole, this wall acts as a channeling device so agents know where the illegals will be trying to cross.
Trump and no engineer ever said it was ‘be all’ end to illegal immigration.
Just another tool...
This is the WP telling all the world how to get thru the wall.
Electricity is our friend.
Gee, how will we figure where they are doing that?
“Electrify it.”
I was thinking mine fields. Definitely motion detectors, no go zones, shoot anyone who enters. How did Germans enforce the Berlin wall?
Where’s the pictures ?
“If true, that is a design flaw”.
I agree if the story is true.
I thought the wall was going to incorporate sensors above and below ground.
If the Wall didn’t work they wouldn’t need to saw holes in it.
Photos? And if with hard work someone can get through it, we might as well have no wall at all, right? Azzholes...
If there’s a tiny drip in my roof I might as well have no roof at all in the rain
How do you think they know it’s being attacked? It’s got sensors, drone and human patrols.
The wall was never intended to be impenetrable. Let’s just let the border patrol take care of things and not the WaPo, ok?
Vibration-detecting sensors would alert border patrol where to go.
