Rev. Bryan Fulwider kills himself — ‘Friends Talking Faith’ co-host had been accused of raping girl
The Orlando Sentinel ^ | October 28, 2019 | Grace Toohey

Rev. Bryan Fulwider, a former Winter Park minister who was recently arrested on charges that he repeatedly raped a teenage girl while he was her pastor, killed himself at his Altamonte Springs home, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to Fulwider’s home in the 600 block of Post Oak Circle about 11:50 p.m. Sunday for a possible suicide. Fulwider was pronounced dead there, ASPD spokeswoman Michelle Sosa said.

Fulwider, 59, had been out on bail since Oct. 17. The former 'Friends Talking Faith’ co-host faced a slew of charges including sexual battery on a minor by a person in custodial authority. He could have faced life in prison, if convicted. He had pleaded not guilty.

The Medical Examiner’s Office for Seminole County ruled the death a suicide, their records show.

The woman who had accused Fulwider of sexually abusing her for years said on Monday that she was not shocked by his suicide, and thanked the Winter Park Police Department for its work on the case and “belief in victims.”

“Fulwider’s day in court will never come because he knew all the truths I could tell,” the woman wrote in a statement, shared with the Sentinel on the condition of anonymity. “My story doesn’t stop with his cowardice through; I will work in the coming months to get justice for myself and any other victims impacted by Fulwider’s abuse.”

“I’m thinking of Fulwider’s other victims and hope they are well tonight,” she wrote. The Sentinel does not typically identify victims of child sex abuse. Fulwider had not been accused by police of abusing anyone else at the time of his death, though WPPD said detectives were investigating whether there could be additional victims.

"There is a higher abuse rate at both public schools and juvenile detention facilities." That is correct.

I worked for years in a juvenile detention center and there was never even an accusation of a male staffer accosting an inmate.

One time a good while ago, going to church was working for me. It was nice. It made me feel good during some hard times. Then the priest tried to give me an open mouthed kiss one day. That was the last time I attended church that was not associated with a funeral.

If you'd been a truck driver and a foreman had kissed you, would you have quit your job?????? I didn't think so

Truck driving generally isn’t used by perverts to gain access to and to control innocent victims, so your fail analogy is total fail.

But if I went to church, and my priest tried to make out with me, I would quit going to church.

I much prefer the company of canines to be perfectly honest with you.

It has to do with where I found evil people.

I am definitely a sinner. I have asked Jesus to forgive my sins. Maybe He will.

I am not a Lone Wolf, I do have a pack. Literally, and God sent them to me.

The problem that continually resurfaces with human beings is that, for the most part, they aren’t honest.

And here you are on a forum. You may be honest, but not perfectly honest.

It’s statutory rape over multiple years starting when she was 14. It’s not unusual for young teens to not report the abuse until they are older or even adults because they don’t come to a full realization of how they were exploited and manipulated until they mature emotionally and intellectually.

Jesus absolutely forgives your sins if you accept him as your savior. Man is evil which is what you have seen and we are all weak to sin. God Bless you.

I hate the sin of men using a position of trust to take advantage of those who can’t see through it, or those who are prone to easily trust charismatic individuals. I’ve seen this in my life too many times now.

I appreciate your kind words very much, and God Bless you too, bray.

Probably something divine in him, too. I like the pic. Analogies are limiting.

Still,a hero is a persistent hero, over time, like a Hound from Heaven.
Must be why the ancient Heraclitus said War is the father and king. And pacifism is a heresy, said Wilmoore Kendall.

Thank you kindly.

That is my sweet baby, Maximillian Von Haus, a.k.a. Max, when he was about 5 months younger or so, so he is quite a bit bigger now.

What you said about him is true though, if I kicked him, he would still love me. But I won’t kick him, because I love him.

I’m pretty sure he is a hound from Heaven. About 96% sure. He can be a jerk from time to time :D
