Rogue River Blue Cheese, produced by Rogue Creamery in Southern Oregon, is an organic, cave-aged blue cheese that is wrapped in pear spirit-soaked Syrah grape leaves.
The Savencia Fromage & Dairy-owned creamery beat out some tough competition: More than 3,800 cheeses from 42 countries and 6 continents were evaluated by a panel of 260 judges in Bergamo, Italy this month.
"This is truly the greatest distinction a cheese can receive. That semi-liquid cheese squares are pretty good too; put them on an English muffin, add some ham and a friend egg - yum!
putting blue cheese and pears on my grocery list now; /smile.

Rogue makes good cheeses. Their Crater Lake blue is really good. There is a lot of good artisanal cheese coming from the US.
Ive had this cheese. It is fabulous. But I love Bleu cheeses

Thank you for posting. We LOVE Blue. Just ordered a quarter-wheel, the least amount they sell. Not cheap. But I didn’t expect that (hey, you only live once).
Trader Joes blue is my favorite, but the Creamery is in my town and they really do make excellent cheeses and import other scrumptious ones. There are tables full of sample containers - including the RR Blue. The Creamery is definitely worth a visit if youre in these parts.
Any cheese I leave in the fridge for too long becomes blue.
There’s an Italian deli I like to go to where the owner makes fresh Mozzarella from water buffalo milk.
The Boccaccini are incredible.
People also say blue cheese and prunes is a good combination.
But, I love it with pears so much that I never even bothered to try it with prunes.

Also bought about 20 small 1 pound wheels which were considered a mistake because they were so sloppy ... sloppy good gooey blue mush.
$50 per pound the last time I bought a pound at their creamery store.
