This weekends planned power outages could be the largest yet in California, as utilities such as Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison order wide blackouts to prevent more blazes and more wildfire liability amid heavy, hot winds.
PG&E, which has 5.4 million electric customers and provides power to 16 million Californians, was projecting Thursday that it could shut off power across nearly all of its territory in Northern California on Sunday and Monday because of ferocious gusts.
This system will likely be the strongest event of the year from a wind perspective, the utility said on its website. Federal forecast agencies are in alignment that this will be a high-risk weather event.

Lets see...leave the dead undergrowth in place and appease the fruitcake environmentalists, or have electricity and enjoy refrigeration, hospital care, etc, etc...hmmmm Don't decaying plants and trees give off CO2? Irony.

Aren’t practically all of the forest fires started by things other than power line sparking? If that’s the case then why not just leave the power on all the time.

Your snowflake virtue signal fails to impress.
Look up "virtue signal" so you can use it correctly next time.

Once this demand is made by the politicians it frees the utilities from liability. This what the utilities want.HOnestly, I don't see it as PG&E's problem anyway. They weren't allowed to cut underbrush by law. When maintenance wasn't illegal, there wasn't this kind of continual problem.

If you could nuke LA and SF, the state might be Republican...
If you could nuke D.C. while Trump was out holding a rally and Congress was in session, most of our problems would cease to exist. Amazing to think...

No power to charge your PC car? And the fire’s getting closer... or you just have to go to your job and the ‘electric’ car won’t move? LOL
