A woman shot and killed two men who were trying to break into her midtown home early Wednesday morning, police said.
The woman was not injured in the confrontation. Her home was specifically targeted in the attempted home invasion, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, Tucson Police Department spokesman. The attempted home invasion appears to have been narcotics related, he said.
Officer Frank Magos, a Tucson police spokesman gave the following account in a news release:
The woman, who was alone in the home, woke up around 3:45 a.m. to noise coming from the rear of the house.
She confronted and shot the two men accused of trying to force their way into the home in the 4600 block of East Duncan Street. The home is near North Swan and East Grant roads.
The woman then sought help from a neighbor and called 911.
Officers arrived to find the two who were shot, Corey Teixeira, 18, and Ali Mohamed, 18, in the homes backyard.
Teixeira was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities transported Mohamed to a hospital where he died shortly after arriving.
It is unclear if the woman will face charges, Dugan said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster line.
Wednesdays shooting is one of more than 100 incidents in the area reported to law enforcement in the past six months, according to Crime Reports, a crime-tracking website.
Im definitely going to get a gun to protect myself, too, said Jay Spencer, a neighbor who has lived in the area for about seven months.
Spencer said that in the short time he has lived there, he already has caught a man attempting to break into the rear of his home. When police arrived, the man had already fled, he said.

“It is unclear if the woman will face charges, Dugan said. “
She should NOT face charges, she should get a medal for ridding the place of two dangerous criminals.
He should have moved to California.
We need more info. What kind of gun did she use? Shotgun? Pistol? Musket? Assaulted Victim Rifle?
I wonder if their last words were anything like: “ Put it down, lady, you ain’t pullin’ no trigger...” A lot of punks seem to think that.
Tucson and breakin’s are synonymous. I lived there thirteen years. Had one successful breakin, three attempted, and my car broken into. The dumbshits don’t light the city because of an observatory. It’s open season.
Trying to force their way in? Hmmmm.... What's the standard for use of deadly force in AZ? Also, the accusations may be moot, at this point. Unless that's necessary for a clean shoot.
Well at least she got them off drugs.
No Street lights,,,
Not Good.
I spent a year or two in
That very Neighborhood
Back in the 1980’s,
Loved it.
Seems a lot of
Others do too,
Now.
My grandfather’s retirement home was in that Tucson neighborhood. As his WW2 generation past away the neighborhood slowly turned Hispanic. It was basically all Hispanic last time I drove by his old place about 10 years ago.
Yep, it’s a shame they wasted the resources transporting him and attempting to save his life. Then again, at least the doctors got a little practice evaluating and treating trauma.
The lady was the only one in the house. No connection to the perps.
Wednesdays shooting is one of more than 100 incidents in the area reported to law enforcement in the past six months, according to Crime Reports, a crime-tracking website.
I suspect the number of incidents will drop dramatically in the neighborhood. Ether because these two were responsible for 95% of the reports or other got the message.
How unladylike.
She should have just racked a cartridge into the chamber without actually shooting them.
The scary racking noise would have chased ‘em off.

(Conventional home defense advice.)
Not good, but in this case a happy ending.
I only suggest this as a possibility because the article does mention drugs.
Isn’t that a white supremacist haircut?
> OK,the woman herself may not have been engaged in any criminality but the *house* could be.
They served a search warrant on the house. Don’t know why since the guys were in the back yard.
Never give away your position. The thug's will just shoot towards the sound.
>>>Well at least she got them off drugs.<<<
LOL, she sure did!
