Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney acknowledged that he held up $390 million in security aide for Ukraine in order to pressure the country into pursuing a 2016 election probe being demanded by President Trump.

Trump and top administration officials have vigorously denied any 'quid pro quo' with Ukraine following a whistleblower's report that the White House was demanding a probe of the Bidens as well as Trump's conspiracy theory that the DNC server might be in Ukraine's possession.

In a rare White House briefing, Mulvaney denied any knowledge of a company linked to Hunter Biden – but said the money was in fact dangled to push what he called anti- 'corruption' efforts by Ukraine.

Haven’t we ALREADY established the money was withheld PRIOR to the phone call?

Donald Trump DID hold up military aid to Ukraine to force investigation, says White House, but to force an investigation into 'DNC server' not the Bidens - and he DID order officials to work with Rudy Giuliani

Quid pro quo or carrot and stick? Is presidential authority over foreign policy now out of bounds?

Quid pro quo or carrot and stick negotiating tactic? Is constitutional presidential authority over foreign policy now out of bounds?

I think the constitution pretty much leaves foreign policy to the president.

If true, and not saying he did, but how can the president be “out of bounds” if he did use foreign aid as a carrot to gain cooperation from a government that we have a treaty with in rooting out obvious corruption?

Same thing if he recalls diplomats or state dept employees that may be, or are suspected by him to be working against him or his policies. How can that possibly be out of bounds?

Same thing if he sends someone of his choice into a corrupt foreign country to get to the bottom of a vast three year conspiracy to commit election fraud against the American people, especially if that conspiracy to defraud includes the highest levels of the prior U.S. administration, ie, the prior president & vice president, two prior secretaries of state, plus prior directors of the FBI and CIA and several past and present top and mid level layers and employees of the CIA, FBI, DOJ, and State Dept, and the entire Democrat party, aided and abetted by the entire complicit liberal/progressive mainstream media, not to mention aided and abetted by the GOPe and nevertrumper corpse, er corps. How can that possibly be out of bounds when the constitution and we the people demand it to be done?

This is the entrenched deep state swamp that Trump was elected to drain. Can’t depend on the swamp draining itself. And they won’t go down the drain very easily. Gonna get ugly.

Same thing when the Commander-in-chief says enough of these non-declared, never-ending wars as is his constitutional authority. How can that possibly be out of bounds?

Talk about hand grenades. I think the president lifted the lid off the Pentagon and the Capitol and the entire military/industrial complex and tossed in a shi..., er shipload.

If the media, the democrats, the establishment, the congress and the entrenched deep state denizens don’t like the very effective job our president is doing for we the people of the states who constitutionally elected him, they should get their act together and try to vote him out in Nov 2020.

That’s the constitutional way.

That’s the American way.

And the only way we the people will accept.

Cool.

If I decide that’s a problem, then it will reflect in my vote.

I think Biden threatened to hold up aid to Ukraine.

Doesn’t matter. All this is eye wash that keeps anyone from focusing on the more interesting question, which is, what the heck has been going on in Ukraine for the last decade or so? Where DNC/State/Soros have turned Ukraine into their private fiefdom and piggy bank.

And Trump has encouraged them to shake free. Biden is the tip of the iceberg, a very minor tip of the Ukraine iceberg. No one is asking the right questions.

Dems decided they were going to impeach last January. They have just been looking for a turd excuse wet enough to stick to the wall long enough for them to ram it through.

Bump to that.

This always drove me nuts about Clinton’s impeachment. Monica was the fig leaf to cover for China and murder, to give the appearance of a down-dressing while obfuscating the actual malfeasance.

Yes, Ukraine has stated unequivocally that they knew nothing of any holding back on military aid until a month later. So there was no quid pro quo in the phone call between the US and Ukraine Presidents.

And given previous aid ripoff by corrupt criminals in Ukraine during the Obama years, it was entirely appropriate for the Trump Administration to see what the new President and his administration in Ukraine were planning for getting a grip on their out of control corruption.

I agree with you. I always thought I read enormous frustration in the eyes of the younger congressmen, as I assumed they knew about all of that, China and murder and more, and yet all they were allowed to talk about was Monica.

That’s when I learned... “the investigation *is* the cover-up”. There are several variations on exactly how you carry it off, but nine times out of ten, in Washington, the investigation *is* the coverup. The Clintons were the post-graduate degree in phony investigations. Once you’ve seen it you recognize it from a hundred yards.

But only the younger congressmen. The older ones were in on the game.

And Trump has encouraged them to shake free.

When this is all over, I suspect that we will see that Trump has freed North Korea from China (this is still a work in progress) and freed Ukraine from Soros, helped free the UK from the EU, and freed the US from the Swamp (also a work in progress).

A lot of books will be written about this time in history.

Look how subtly this narrative has changed in the last few weeks. The Democrats are trying desperately to conflate the two narratives, but there is an unmistakable distinction between them that has enormous implications for the U.S. and President Trump's game plan moving forward after Mueller's circus was over:

This is what the Democrats have been bleating about for the last few weeks ... with its roots in the "whistleblower" complaint from August:

[The Trump administration] held up $390 million in security aide for Ukraine in order to pressure the country into pursuing an investigation of the Bidens being demanded by President Trump.

This is what REALLY transpired:

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney acknowledged that he held up $390 million in security aide for Ukraine in order to pressure the country into pursuing a 2016 election probe being demanded by President Trump.

Yes, in fact the Star Report reflected just that.

There’s no way in hell anyone would come away from the Foster investigation thinking he committed suicide.

As far as I am concerned, Star is as guilty as the person who pulled the trigger on Foster.

So what are going to do, if it was a “quid” will you vote for one of the RAT clowns that were in the debate? Get a grip.

To force an investigation into why the prosecutor was fired (that’s on Joe Biden, not Hunter), and to get the DNC server back.
