I like my JD Country Mild sausage with my eggs....
You can still eat your Jimmy Dean’s but the price is likely going to increase, at least while the demand here and in China exceeds the available supply.
Hog farmers must increase supply to maintain near current prices.

Thank the Obama adin for knuckling under to the WTO ruling on country of origin labeling for beef and pork.
It’s all mystery meat now.
Note to POTUS: Sir, don’t Americans deserve to know where in Hades their meat comes from?!
I shop at a grocery store that is part of the IGA, Independent Grocers Association and they don’t carry as much of the big names like Tyson and Smithfield as most do. They’ll have a little bit of big name stuff but most of their meat is Prairie Farms which is farmer owned and their distribution is kept fairly local, regional at most.
The chicken has more flavor and for the most part, pork is pork.
We don’t hardly buy bacon anymore due to the price. Hell, we don’t buy a lot of stuff anymore because of the price. Even with beef, the most I’ll spend is $4/lb.
I did buy 6 Tyson whole chickens a couple of weeks ago because they were $0.99/lb but I discovered why they were so cheap when we started using them. First thing I noticed was the bag-o-goodies was missing. Livers, gizzards, neck. Next thing I noticed is that every single one had a broken leg. The last one, I cooked last night, was misshapen. I doubt it could even walk.
The only downside to the smaller, Prairie Farms brand is that the meat doesn’t keep as long. I do some smoking and the PF ribs are way better than Smithfield(bet the owners can’t even pronounce it). Smithfield seems to have learned how to cut ribs just right so that you get a lot of junk meat with them, plus they’re just not as meaty in between ribs.
I hate conglomerates. Competition is good.
Eckrich is owned by chi-com Smithfield.
Piggies in the barnyard.... free range, and killed local.
Guilt? what the hell? Guilt from what—— natural processes?
Export the Sow! Now there is a political “banner”!
I like Eckrich stuff...
Feral hogs make terrible bacon, not enough fat. I’ve seen my neighbor feed them corn for 3 to 4 months and they still didn’t fatten.
Even making sausage from them you end up adding pork fat.
You bet! Let’s drop aerosol bombs of pure micronized pork fat mists==== ALL OVER Turkey, and Syria and especially over IRAN.
Name of the weapon system— the Pershing Shield Dispersal System.
Pershing in the Moro Rebellion in Phillipines, ordered the killed Moro muslims to be buried surrounded by a harvested pig body skin. Horrified the Moros, and emphasized the serious nature of our intent— and they capitulated.
Smithfield Foods, Inc. is a Chinese owned company!
Read all about it at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smithfield_Foods
If you don’t want to support anything China, don’t buy Smithfield, Eckrich, Nathans Famous, Farmland, Armour, Farmer John, Kretschmar, John Morrell, Cooks, Gwaltney, Carando, Margherita, Curlys, Healthy Ones, Morliny, Krakus, or Berlinki brand foodstuffs!

Let the buyer beware!
Here ya go!
