President Trump is holding a campaign rally in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Friday evening. He announced the event on Sunday in a tweet: "Going to Louisiana on Friday night for a big Republican Rally," he said.
Mr. Trump is rallying on the eve of Louisiana's gubernatorial election, trying to tip the vote in favor of the Republicans running to unseat Governor John Bel Edwards, a Democrat. There are two Republicans running Congressman Ralph Abraham and businessman Eddie Rispone. It's a nonpartisan "jungle primary," meaning if Edward wins 50% of the vote, he wins outright. If not, he'll face a runoff against the second place finisher.
"Keep Democrat Governor Edwards under 50%, force a runoff, and have a great new Republican Governor! Voting on Saturday," Mr. Trump tweeted.

Exactly....He knows his supporters ‘get it’.....and did three years ago. We could not have done better with any other to take the crap they throw at him 24/7 and relentlessly so. God knew what He raised Trump up at this time and place in history....the nation was ready and so were the people.
Those Little Leaguers on AF1. Must be a dream of those Little Leaguers...
Governor John Edwards — Sounds like this Gov is trying to destroy the LA energy sector just as New Mexico’s radical enviro governor Lujan-Grisham is trying to do here.
Good for them!
I could hear liberal heads at CNN exploding from my house!
What’s going on in the background? People coming and going. They are all looking at something.
Amazing, did they had anyone kneeling during the National Anthem? I bet not...
Louisiana has an open primary system where all candidates,
gop, dem, ind all run on the same ballot. 50% plus one is an
outright winner otherwise the two top vote recipients go to
a run off regardless of party affiliation.
Just talked about going to construction sited with his dad, talked to the workers, he loved them.
He said I know them all, the way he said it I’m sure he knows a lot of elites and doesn’t have much respect for them.
Is this an open primary? If so, how are five Governor candidates going to overcome one Dem, the existing governor?
No kneelers spotted...LOL
sited=sites
I haven’t followed the race as to what each one is supporting.
But oil/gas is a major part of their economy.
Never mind - I read the top article - the purpose is to keep him under 50% and force a runoff. “Vote for either Eddie or Ralph.”
That would be something!
How was CNN ratings last night with the Dem town hall?
CNN loves it when Beto cusses but when Trump does it its OMG OMG MY POOR EARS
Yes it is. And two Republicans running against the Democrat incumbent is going to split the conservative vote.
