Then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was determined to keep his big secret about a pending special counsel right up to the day his top candidate, Robert Mueller, sat down with President Trump in the Oval Office.
The boss and his staff do not know about our discussions, Mr. Rosenstein said in an email to Mr. Mueller on May 12, 2017.
Mr. Rosensteins boss was an apparent reference to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who had stepped away from any role in the Russia probe. This meant that Mr. Trump didnt know either.
The email was one of a thread of messages that the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained from the Justice Department under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
Mr. Trump has claimed that the purpose of Mr. Muellers May 16 White House visit was to interview him for the vacant FBI director post. Mr. Mueller, a former FBI director, has said the meetings purpose was to discuss the bureau in general.
Whatever the purpose, John Dowd, Mr. Trumps attorney during the ensuing 22-month probe, said Mr. Mueller had a duty not to meet with the president knowing he was likely to be investigating the Trump campaign.
The most dishonorable conduct I have ever witnessed, Mr. Dowd told The Washington Times.

I do wonder why things went the way they did. THere is a “source” of unknown veracity on Twitter (@JohnHereToHelp) who claims to have info on Seth Rich murder and other hot topics. Last time someone checked for me, General Flynn was following him on Twitter. DOn’t know if that’s still in place.
So JHTH claims that Rod Rosenstein is “all about being AG” and if you wanted to understand Rod, that’s everything you need to know. Time will tell. :/
I think President Trump had not yet really cracked the hold the MSM had on the public yet, and I think he needed someone working in the DOJ that the Dems would not thoroughly delegitimize 24/7 but that person couldn’t be loyal to the Deep State.
So I am wondering if they gave Rod Rosenstein a chance to prove himself (legit). The Dems would accept him and in theory, if he wanted to be AG, all he had to do was his job (fair and honest). If that was the plan, Rosenstein instead “proved himself” weak and easily controlled by the Deep State (e.g., SC, Mueller etc.)
Never trusted Rosenstein even though he revered Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson.
All part of the plan folks. I’m tellin’ ya, Rosenstein is a patriot, a white hat. If not, I will resign from FR in disgrace.
Who was it that said, “Man is a political animal?” Plato?
Who are we to be surprised the CIA and FBI, along with many other institutions, are politicized?
We fool ourselves. Like sheep.
As far as I can tell, the moment chose Robert Mueller to sit on his ass and collect a few million for two years. I can hear Weissmann at the meetings now: Aw, let em sleep. If you wake him, well have to help him to the bathroom again.
Rosenstein blows with the wind.
What a dork. Nobody talks like that unless they are pretty full of themselves.
I hope he is too.
His goodbye party looked very chummy.
But do not resign from FR in disgrace.
We can only hope Rod is a white hat.

Mrs Sessions, youre back. Give my regards to Mrs Rosenstein. ;_)
White Hats DON’T WEAR WIRES to tape the PRESIDENT!
My take on Rosenstein is that he was an ambitious weasel.
He was playing both camps in hopes that he would end up on top.
May 16, 2917 : (Andrew McCabe writes memo detailing how Rosenstein proposed the wearing of a wire into Trump’s oval office; [White House security lax]) a two-page memo , dated May 16, 2017, by then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe detailing how Rosenstein proposed wearing a wire into the Oval Office “to collect additional evidence on the president’s true intentions.” McCabe wrote that Rosenstein said he thought it was possible because “he was not searched when he entered the White House.”
May 16, 2017 : (Rosenstein speaks with Hoyer and Ryan) On May 16, 2017, the day before Mueller was appointed, scheduling emails indicate that Rosenstein spoke with both Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and then-Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI).
May 17, 2017 : (DoJ : Rosenstein appointed Mueller) On May 17, 2017, Robert Mueller was appointed by Rosenstein as special counsel.
May 18, 2017 : (Judge Bates congratulates Rosenstein [on appointing Mueller]) The day after the special counsel appointment, on May 18, 2017, Judge Bates sent an email to Rosenstein with the subject line “Great move” and the message “Well done.”

If you go by CBS News, you’ll see them reporting that HHS, the CDC, and the FDA were ordered by a D.C. judge to restore deleted webpages with “health information.” As Amuse clarifies, the deleted webpages were dedicated to sex change operations and gender ideology. How a judge can demand which webpages must be included escapes us.

U.S. District Judge John Bates has ruled in favor of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), allowing Musk’s budget-slashing team continued access to critical records from the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The ruling deals a major blow to the entrenched bureaucracy and their progressive allies, who sought to block Musk’s efforts to streamline bloated agencies and cut unnecessary spending....

. . .
What Led to Musk Calling for Bates’ Impeachment
The ruling marks a significant victory for Musk, who has been vocal in his criticism of Bates.
In recent days, he has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to call for the judge’s impeachment after Bates ordered the restoring of the federal government’s web pages on sexually transmitted diseases and other topics amid the Trump administration’s fight against what it sees as “gender ideology.”
“There needs to be an immediate wave of judicial impeachments, not just one,” Musk posted Wednesday in response to a discussion about Bates’ decision. . .
