Bible in a Year : Isaiah 2627; Philippians 2
Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. Luke 11:28
Brian was scheduled to be an usher at his brothers wedding, but he was a no-show. Understandably, family members were disappointed, including his sister Jasmine who was the Scripture reader for the occasion. At the ceremony she flawlessly read from the well-known Scripture passage about love in 1 Corinthians 13. But after the wedding when her father asked her to deliver a birthday gift to Brian, she hesitated. She found it harder to live the words about love than to read them. Before the evening was over, however, she had a change of mind and admitted, I cant stand and read Scripture about love and not practice it.
Have you ever been convicted by Scripture that you read or heard but found it difficult to carry out? Youre not alone. Its easier to read and listen to Gods Word than to obey it. Thats why Jamess challenge is so fitting: Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says (James 1:22). His mirror illustration makes us smile because we know what it means to observe something about ourselves that needs attention. But were deceived if we think that observing alone is enough. When James nudges us to [look] intently into and [continue] in Gods truth (v. 25), he encourages us to do what Jasmine was compelled to dolive it. Gods Word calls for it, and He deserves nothing less.
When did you make a change in your life after looking intently into the Scriptures? How was your life enriched?
Heavenly Father, help me to better understand what it means to look intently into Your Word and live out what I read.
Shavua Tov.

Hi Everybody!
((((HUGS))))
Good evening, Mayor, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Is the shop finished? Did you rest today?
Thanks, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Any more rain to help your well?
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
You still able to get out with Blue? Penny enjoying hiking in the cooler weather?
More rain here, but the nights are getting lower and lower into the 30s.
Today was chilly, but I did go out on the bike this morning and hit a few yard sales. I got some tools, scented candles, and a gorgeous leather bomber jacket for $20. It’s weird, as i couldn’t find a proper leather motorcycle jacket that fit me in any store, and now I have four of them.
And they all fit.
The woods in MA were so infested with ticks this year, and Lyme’s a real issue, that Penny and I stuck to paved walkways all summer. I miss our hikes in the woods. Perhaps after the first frost we can do it again. I got a new waterproof coat for Penny, hot pink with reflective strips on it, Brand new with tags, at a yard sale for $3.00. Now she has TWO beautiful coats!
My mud room is all freshly painted, but I still have to stain and seal the front stairs before the snow flies.
Stayed home today, still working on organizing, that will take weeks. I have a ton of stuff and equipment.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Beautiful Kathy. Thanks for the reminder to be kind to yourself. So much negativity these days. :)
Howdy, Kathy.
Making any progress on your “project”?
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Howdy, LUV.
Hope you had a good day.
Ours is really good at the moment - - it’s raining!!!
