The White House fired back after social media users criticized first lady Melania Trump over a coat she wore in a photo tweeted by President Trump on Wednesday to mark the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
White House spokesperson Stephanie Grisham, who previously worked with the first lady, told USA Today it was "ridiculous" that some Twitter users called the coat insensitive.
Some Twitter users noted that the trim on the back of the first lady's coat appeared to resemble a skyscraper with a smaller object hovering nearby, which some said resembled the images of the World Trade Center being struck by aircraft.

Uhhhhhh...wait. I want to make sure I understand this. To mooslum-appeasing Libturds, flying a jetliner through a skyscraper is a bad thing?
It looks like a sown seam with a button and button hole strap.
Looks like the Washington Monument to me. Regardless, those complaining about it really need to get a life.
It looks like a dove is flying out from the Washington Monument, which reopens with a new elevator system on the 19th of this month.
Next week, Sept. 17 is the 17th of Elul, the date of the dove's first mission from the ark.
If the press had any concept of research (journalistic integrity, hah), any of its beautiful people could have discovered that in 2001, Sept 17th was dubbed "Let Freedom Ring Day" by the NYSE, because it was the reopening day after 911. Here's the full page ad.
A phoenix flies out of the ashes, in any case.
These savants spend too much time looking at Rorshack tests and chewing lithium out of an oversize Pez dispenser...
September 17th is also Constitution Day and my birthday...
People who believe this coat is insensitive need to have jumper cables attached to their ears.
It’s the Washington Monument, you idiots. See the pointy top? The Twin Towers had flat tops and there were TWO of them!
AND a plane actually did crash into the Washington Monument once.
Let me repeat what Diana in Wisconsin said...
“Its stitching around a seam that you can open; its a flap in the back of a long coat! And its a BUTTON to the right that holds the seam closed. Guess wed better ban buttons!”
OMG! These MORONS! We CANNOT lose one more INCH of ground to these IDIOTS!
It looks like a Russki wearing a dunce hat while making anti-Clintoon memes to put on FB to me.
What I saw also.
But then that would likely pi$$ them off even more.
OMG it is a BUTTON as in the one that starts a nuclear war!
She’s signaling nuclear Armageddon and a radioactive death to America!
That’s not the Twin Towers it’s the Washington Monument, that will be the ground zero of the first nuke!
Or maybe it’s Cleopatra’s Needle in NYC, yes, that’s it, because of 9/11! She’s signaling the atomic destruction of New York City!
It’s all so clear now!
You’d have more luck interpreting the pinstriping on a lowrider.
It’s the UNABOMBER!
LOL.
I think your homemade shock therapy wouldn’t help because they have already lost their minds.
The toast looks like one of the officers at the Little Big Horn. 1876.
They complain about what Melania wears, and boast when the beast wears shower curtains?????
I think she wore high heels while boarding the plane, which she later changed into sneakers when she arrived but critics left that out implying she wore her high heels to a disaster zone and had no intention of even really walking around.
The comments on The Hill site are the usual. Those mean Republicans picked on classy Moochelle Obama so quit whining.
The Emperor with no clothes analogy is lost on them, or they are legally Blind.
Calling out the Fashionistas who promoted every ridiculous looking style of Attire worn by Moochelle is bad, somehow criticizing the Attire worn by Melania is good, especially when it is attempting to link her clothing choices to an act or Terrorism that killed over 3,000 Innocents.
