On Sept 17th, 2001, the Jewish New Year 5762 began at sundown, which was the date of the dove's third mission. If the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 had rounded up all the tribes, the date would have marked the beginning of the Jubilee year, meaning the 50th year following the 7 Shmita year cycles after the founding.

In modern Israel
The first Shmita year in the modern State of Israel was 1951-52 (5712 in the Hebrew calendar). Sorry if that is confusing. It's an important point though because the NYSE was connecting its bell to the Liberty Bell on that particular day. The Jubilee year *is* the year of liberty/release, and the Liberty Bell quotes the verse about it, Lev 25:10.

I should correct my comment about the media. The source of the observation was Twitter, but the broader media wants everyone to see it. It's easy to blurr them all together and maybe I am being too fussy, But I don't want to be sloppy.
