First lady Melania Trump says she is worried about the 'growing epidemic' of e-cigarette use among US adolescents and teens.

In a tweet on Monday afternoon, she called for action to fight 'nicotine addiction', but didn't mention any specific plans.

'I am deeply concerned about the growing epidemic of e-cigarette use in our children,' she tweeted.

'We need to do all we can to protect the public from tobacco-related disease and death, and prevent e-cigarettes from becoming an on-ramp to nicotine addiction for a generation of youth.'

Of course marijuana is bad for your lungs. The last thing they want is to tell the truth.

Juul did a small study. Second hand vape.
TOXIC. Just much less toxic is their claim.

So don’t try to tell me there is no harm in all that mess that envelopes me from people who don’t give a damn about the harm they are doing to someone else.

“So don’t try to tell me there is no harm in all that mess that envelopes me from people who don’t give a damn about the harm they are doing to someone else.”

While still toxic, not arguing that, vapor dissipates almost immediately and carries no residue, like regular tobacco (or any kind) of smoke does.

Remember e-cigarettes, the patch, gum and ridiculous taxes was the governments solution to cigarettes.

Wonder what the percentage of folks who smoke is now compared to say 1980.

Not only that but kids can buy concentrated vape juice with much higher concentrations of nicotine and that are odorlesss so they are getting the equivalent of 3 packs of cigs a day with no one even knowing.

I’m more worried about vaping being the leading cause of cervical cancer in men.

I’ve been vaping after 30 years of smoking for (By next May) eleven years.
Only food grade liquids. No oils (Oils wreck the atomizers), only water based ingredients.
If anything is going to happen to anyone because of the use of these in the manner that they’re SUPPOSED to be used, it’ll happen to me.

Needless to say, I couldn’t be healthier.

Smoking and vaping aren't as dangerous as having been alive in the 50s.

‘doesn’t it make sense that marijuana has long term effects that are really bad?’

not as bad as the long term effects of going to jail for using it...

Here’s my experience:

I started smoking at age 15, mainly because my parents and most of my friends did. For 43 years I smoked daily, usually about 25-30 cigarettes but sometimes 40, 50 or even 60 per day during times of stress.

At age 17 I made a half-hearted attempt to quit for the first time. Didn’t last long.

I tried again in my twenties, using the new nicotine gum. It tasted nasty and gave me an upset stomach. That didn’t last long either.

In my early forties I tried nicotine patches and gum. Made it for 9 days then started bumming smokes from coworkers, one the first day, more as the days went on, then I finally bought a pack on the way home and hid them in the car trunk. Before long I was buying cartons again.

In 2009 I heard that tobacco taxes were going up again. Shortly after that there was a radio commercial for Njoy ecigarettes saying they were available at Pilot stations; I happened to be approaching one so I stopped there and bought one. It turned out to be practically worthless as a substitute for smoking but I could see the potential for better models.

Joined an ecig forum on the web, read about the latest and greatest and bought many of them. They were getting better and so was the liquid that fueled them.

I continued to smoke cigarettes but fewer and fewer as time went on. Finally in 2011 I stopped buying them. Since July 1st of that year I’ve only used ecigarettes. I noticed some physical changes: lungs cleared out, no more wheezing. No longer coughed and hacked after getting up in the morning. Didn’t realize it at the time but I smelled much better without that cigarette stink.

So I’ve vaped continuously for the past 8 years. I’ve been mostly considerate and never thought I was entitled to blow out clouds of vapor in any direction or in any company. I don’t think it’s as healthy as inhaling only fresh air but it’s probably a whole lot safer than smoking the cancer sticks. Consider it harm reduction for nicotine addicts.

I just turned 67 years old and have no plans to give up vaping.

gave me an upset stomach

I'm glad to hear your success story. (But I'm thinking that that you may have chewed the gum too fast...or were especially sensitive to nicotine in the stomach. That happened to me sometimes, too. It wouldn't happen to everyone who follows the instructions.)

I believes that nicotine itself does not cause cancer. It causes heart disease. I think the cancer is caused by the tars in the tobacco. As far as I know vape juice is tar free. By the way, I am a long time ex-smoker and do not vape nicotine.

Yeah, must have chewed it too fast, trying to quell that craving for a smoke I suppose. Probably should have only chewed one piece at a time, too.

LOL!

Yeah, I think one piece at a time is a good idea :-)

If you think nicotine causes heart disease, then stay away from:

Tomatoes
Potatoes
Eggplants
Teas
Peppers and Capsicums
Cauliflower

yes you could because you just traded one opposed to good health habit for another - your just habitually addicted to some thing else now = not the best of health. but you can keep telling yourself otherwise and believe it if you want to.
