Dear friend,
This week, the Trump Administration announced plans to take $3.6 billion away from military construction projects so the President can build portions of his border wall. That includes taking away more than $77 million from projects in Virginia.
President Trump's decision to pull funding from critical national security projects is deeply concerning. Our military construction funding should be used for safety improvements that protect our troops and bolster our national security, not for a vanity project.
The Department of Defense informed me that the Administration plans to take funding away from the following military construction projects in Virginia:
The Cyber Operations Facility at Joint Base Langley-Eustis will lose $10,000,000 that was supposed to go towards construction of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) that's needed for the Cyber Protection Team to receive intel and perform the training required for the national security mission of the facility. The Navy Ships Maintenance Facility in Portsmouth will lose $26,120,000 that was supposed to go towards necessary safety upgrades, including fire protections to keep workers safe. A project to replace a hazardous materials warehouse in Norfolk will lose $18,500,000 that was supposed to go towards ensuring the safe storage of dangerous materials, including hazardous chemicals, to meet life and fire safety code requirements. A project to replace a hazardous materials warehouse in Portsmouth will lose $22,500,000 that was supposed to go towards ensuring safe storage of dangerous materials, including hazardous chemicals, to meet life and fire safety code requirements.
The well-being of American troops is the core responsibility of every commander in the military, yet the Commander-in-Chief is shirking that duty so he can advance his own political agenda.
I've been outspoken against President Trump's plan to take money from military construction projects since it was announced earlier this year, and I'll keep urging my colleagues in the Senate to join me in standing up against it.
Sincerely,
TimKaine
Following OAN ticker on how much was paid to illegals, its up to 188+B. The wall is 3.5. More Liberal BS on $$$$ that is not wasted or unaccounted for. If the wall stopped 25% it would amount to 47B less paid out, using today’s figure. Kaine is looking for the military vote, and those who are in their employ. The funds may come from another branch. If Baltimore can’t account for the 16B they got, send them 12.5 next time and use the 3,5 difference from their aid.
It’s called national security. The president can put 3.6 billion dollars into the wall, or he can, in my view, spend 3.6 billion in live Army training exercises along the Mexican border, in which the Army is required to stop any crossings whatsoever, except at legal entry points. That is, the U.S. Army becomes the wall. That would be just fine with me.

Tim Kaine is my “senator” but he has never given a damn about our military’s real needs for national defense. The only time he “cares” is when there is an election, his or just for Democrat incumbents/candidates.
Tim, get back on your meds and go to hell, you stinking coward and fool.
According to the numbers I could dig up, the military budget for FY2019 was $686 Billion ... that’s right with a Capital ‘B’. So, breaking out my handy, dandy calculator - President Trump reallocated rough and dirty 0.52% of the military’s budget.
Tim, I hate to tell you this, but that $686 Billion (yes still with a B) was raised by President Trump/Congress to the military’s budget by $80 Billion (still with a B) for FY2019. That’s less than you congress critters piss away in a weekend. That’s practically a rounding error.
Someone already said it - he’s just pissed off that he couldn’t snatch any of that money for his off-shore bank account.
And what can be more ‘conservative’ than conserving national sovereignty?
1. The Democrats have raided and tortured our military for decades. It was the Democrats insistence to make the military "pay for" 50% of all Sequestration budget cuts, despite being less than 15% of the budget under Obama. They hate military spending, and they hate the military.
2. The Democrats could have allotted any money to the military or to military construction that they wanted last January - but instead, they simply wanted to stop the wall so they could import Illegal Invaders.
3. Kaine is a black, dirty liar. Democrats are black, dirty liars. Most of the media are black, dirty liars.
Remember when Gov Timmy screwed up the budget and shut down all of the rest stops and slashed DMV hours, and then everything was restored to normal once his Republican successor (McDonnell) took over? I do. FU, Timmy.
If your buddies in congress would do their job we wouldn’t have to look elsewhere to fund the wall. The letter starts off, dear fiend, Im not your friend!
I think Mitt Romney just found his running mate for 2020...
Agreed. The military/govt complex has many facilities that are redundant and can be used for these purposes, just move the function to where the facilities already exist. Now, as 24 yr veteran, we do need to prioritize other things as well. No one like t see their project slide down on the scale, but we do indeed have constraints, and until congress decides to agree with these priorities, then the shuffling of the extant and moveable funds needs to occur. He is the chief exec and the CiC, so it is his bailiwick.
Build the wall. raid the pork barrel of project funds wisely.
Hopefully, he is eliminating Congressional pork which will make them howl.
Is Tim Kaine homosexual?
