India lost contact with a spacecraft it was attempting to land on the moon on Saturday, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said, in a setback to the nations ambitious plans to become the first country to probe the unexplored lunar south pole.

Space exploration ain’t easy, and there aren’t enough nations working on it. Hopefully India keeps after it despite the setback.
Rocket Science is Hard
Try again
So the guys show up one day, programming manuals under their arm, and boom, now they are rocket scientists. Ain’t off-shoring great?
We are already polluting other planets yay
Perhaps they should try to contact their call center =)
Have they tried rebooting?
probe the unexplored lunar south pole.
Who wrote this, Henry Miller?
Maybe they should consult Kim Jung-un
Laugh all you want - but you may want to go look and see when the last time was that the US tried to land something on the moon.
And then remember that we don’t have any moon rockets any more.
Try again. You learn something each time. It took the US a LOT of launch failures before we finally got our first satellite in orbit.
Countries that have put men on the moon:
USA
Countries that have retrieved moon rocks.
USA
USSR
Countries that have soft-landed a probe on the moon
USA
USSR
China
It’s a small club.
I’m not laughing, I’m just pissed that those bastards show up, literally, with programming manuals under their arms, and steal work from American citizens. I’m mad that their food is tasty but gives me the runs.
Yup, I agree - we had a lot of rockets explode on or near the launch pad and plenty of failures to orbit.
Just pointing out that making fun of these guys when they’re making an ambitious attempt to land a probe on the moon when the US can’t replicate their attempt today with purely NASA resources is pretty sad.
We did it with 1960s technology.
Now we send rovers that crawl all over Mars.
The Indian probe landed.
It called me up and tried to sell me a website.
They also have a lunar orbiter so that IS something.
They will fix what ever went wrong.
We are some years away from putting a man just back
in earth orbit.
I am quite proud of the Indian space program, we need
all the help we can in getting off this rock.
