The Democratic primary war is truly something to behold. One Democrat after another promises voters the world and then some. Heck, the universe and then some. See their plans to erase student debt. It's insane, it'll cost taxpayers a ridiculous amount, but a Democrat who opposes erasing student debt will have to fight an uphill battle to win the nomination. Yes, even if his name happens to be Joe Biden.
Well, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has just upped the ante. He now promises to erase $81 billion in medical debt. I kid you not. HeadlinezPro explains:
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) revealed one other piece of his plan to overtake the well being care system in America on Saturday, teasing his proposal to cancel $81 billion in previous medical debt. In an announcement, Sanders said that "in the United States of America, your financial life and future should not be destroyed because you or a member of your family gets sick." He went on to say that he is "sick and tired of seeing over 500,000 Americans declare bankruptcy each year because they cannot pay off the outrageous cost of a medical emergency or a hospital stay."
"In the wealthiest country in the history of the world," he went on to say, "42 percent of Americans should not be losing their entire life savings two years after being diagnosed with cancer."
And so, if he wins the presidential election, Sanders promises to erase $81 billion in medical debt across the board.
It's easy to laugh at such plans, but the scary thing is that Democrats will have to push them through Congress somehow if they end up defeating President Trump next year. The progressive base of the party isn't going to sit idly by while such campaign promises are broken.

I think an Entertainment Tax, including a Tax on Entertainers should be able to cover this expense and give every American FREE Health care to boot!!!

But I’m telling you, these promises to provide debt relief are going to draw literal armies of lemmings off the couch to vote Democrat. We ignore this at our peril.

hmmmm….I’ve always paid my bills, don’t have any debt, don’t get government handouts. Even though my ancestors (German, Eastern European, Irish) were treated horribly in the US when they first arrived and some with the prejudices following WW1, nobody’s talking about giving me reparations. And Bernie and the other economic crazies wants the gov to give billions to all the takers and borrowers? Why not just print a $25,000 (or so) check for every US citizen? It would make more sense.

It will be paid. The Gummint will pay it for them and raise your taxes to do it.

To Oprah's credit, she used her own resources to help people out. Which is wonderful. The Bernie method is completely wrong.

first we have a whole Nother year or almost a year of the Democrats picking each other off and try and outdo each other and Terry cheddar apart
then don’t finally come up with somebody around June and then Trump will start going after them with real facts real numbers and I think it will be a great expose of liberalism and the Santa Claus mentality which is been the Democrats par for the course way to win elections for ever and ever and ever
