Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump claimed Friday that the US had nothing to do with the explosion of an Iranian rocket Thursday, tweeting a photo of such high resolution that it prompted questions about whether the President had publicly released classified imagery.
"The United States of America was not involved in the catastrophic accident during final launch preparations for the Safir SLV Launch at Semnan Launch Site One in Iran," Trump wrote, and added what appeared to be a sarcastic sign off. "I wish Iran best wishes and good luck in determining what happened at Site One."

AL Green will claim this merits impeachment.
Lots of satellite sources with that resolution...
4 idiots in agreement means it must be true.
Im disappointed that President Trump didnt have Tourist Guy photoshopped into the image before he posted it on Twitter.
I would imagine he is toying with them as they destroy themselves while he points out just how much we can know about them.
That is no doubt a C level grade photo. They have satellites that look for oil.
Norton, Norden, 220, 221 whatever it takes! LOL
A bit dated technology... Still useful for dealing with IRN though I am sure.
In essence the President is saying if this wasn’t an accident it wasn’t us. Ambiguity is sometimes artful.
There is at least one country nearby which has hypersonic missile technology. Two if you include Russia.
And just about any country these days can fly a drone into something.
Yep. CNN does NOT decide, the President does. Period.
Agreed. At one point, one could zoom in on Google maps to my residence and see from space the TV antenna outside. Not the tower, mind you, but the freakin’ medium size quasi-yagi style antenna.
Presently the resolution displayed is not that high, but, still, you are quite correct about some of the commercial satellites.
Could be CNN's news room.
That photo is not “high resolution”. Our high resolution space satellites can read what’s written on a piece of paper laying on the ground. 40 years ago I heard we could count the number of bolts on a tank and read a license plate. We can probably count the hairs on someones head.
The United States of America was not involved in the catastrophic accident
I absolutely love it. And the best part is it rings of I did not have sexual relations with that woman.......Miss Lewinski
Troll level 1000!
I was thinking it was the Ralph bomb sight.
I spent a little time reading the Twitter replies to this. 90% are hostile to Trump and accuse him of leaking classified information—with no evidence.
After reading perhaps a 100 such comments, it seemed very clear that Trump will reveal his source as some publicly available image. This smells like a media troll he has done many times: do something that will inflame them with false accusations and then provide proof otherwise.
If we were involved it wasn’t an accident. Is Trump parsing?
Exactly.
The president...and no one else...can unilaterally de-classify whatever he wants.
Any sitting president has that right.
For all of those people pretending to be concerned that Trump has revealed classified national security information by releasing a photo showing our surveillance capabilities, I’d merely suggest that they look at Google Maps’ maximum magnification satellite view of any neighborhood. The magnification and resolution from Google is roughly the same as what’s in that photograph of Semnan Launch Site One.
Note to self, check spelling before joking. Thanks for the correction.
