Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs died of a deadly combination of alcohol and drugs, an autopsy conducted by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner shows.
Skaggs, 27, was found dead July 1 in a Southlake hotel while the Angels were in town to play the Texas Rangers.
The autopsy and toxicology report released Friday show Skaggs had a combination of fentanyl, Oxycodone and Oxymorphone in his system.

100% agree. At the press conference the players were lined up in front of the reporters and they looked confused. Mixture of sadness and regret. Bottom line: The players probably tried to get Skaggs to get clean and failed and feel horrible.

I suspect Prince got hooked for the same reason, all those stage moves caught up to him and he needed the painkillers and got hooked.
Not many even know how to intervene and this day and age it’s tougher. I read it was someone on the Angels staff who was Skagg’s supplier. All that Fentanyl comes via Mexico with California being a sanctuary state I’m sure everyone will look everywhere but Mexican’s cartels. That is the gorilla in the room

If he wasn’t already in a slump, he was heading for one...that stuff slows you down....a lot in this case.
