Too soon?
I am not sad anymore re his demise. Those drugs suppress gag reflex. End of story. When does stupid people/media realize risk vs benefit ratio is > 1 with these chemicals? They still believe it is desirable to be out of their mind under any circumstance.
I stopped drinking 31 years ago and haven’t missed alcohol for 1 second.I don’t care if others drink. I just probably wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t quit.
Wonder how often pro athletes are tested for drugs ?
It probably varies with each sport and the personal history of each player.
The link below gives you some insight to this issue.

“His cause of death is due to the mixture of ethanol, fentanyl and Oxycodone intoxication with terminal aspiration of gastric contents, meaning he choked on his vomit.”
presumably first passing out from the effects of the drugs ...
Hope I’m the first to say it: “At least he died doing what he loved”.
Thanks, Gramps.
Of course he did. That’s why it was so silent. Sad part is probably half the team knew and no one intervened

Well, I doubt any doctor would prescribe that combo, and definitely the alcohol would not be advised.
Though he may have gotten started down the road to opiate addiction through prescription pain meds for an injury, that wouldn’t be unusual at all.
It’s STUPID IDIOTS LIKE THIS GUY THAT CAUSE PEOPLE LIKE ME TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL KINDS OF BULL$&#! JUST TO GET 30 DAYS OF MEDS FOR LEGITIMATE PAIN RELIEF !!!
$40.00 Copay every 2 weeks + Drug Testing @ $180.00 every 2 Weeks just to get a script to try to make Life Tolerable for a few hours at a time...
Good for you.
I can have a twelve pack in the refer and it may last over a year.
I’ve gone as much as two years without, and not by design.
It’s just not a necessity to me.
I may go out to eat three times in two weeks, and have a couple at each of those means. I may not have any. It just depends.
CORRECT.
