Kentucky Fried Chicken® becomes the first national U.S. QSR (quick service restaurant) to introduce a plant-based chicken, in partnership with Beyond Meat®. Beyond Fried Chicken will make its debut August 27 in a limited test.
The new plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken offers the finger lickin' good fried chicken flavor only KFC can deliver as a perfect choice for those searching for plant-based meat options on-the-go.
Beyond Fried Chicken is available in nuggets with choice of favorite dipping sauce, like KFC's signature Finger Lickin' Good sauce, or boneless wings tossed in one of three delicious sauce options: Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ.
Those who want to be among the first to try the new plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken are invited to stop by the Cobb Parkway restaurant for a complimentary sample of Beyond Fried Chicken from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, August 27 (with purchase of any KFC menu item, while supplies last).

why pay exorbitant prices for fake chicken?....even their real chicken is over priced and btw, not as good as when they used the politically incorrect frying oil.
It will start as a “blend” and then slowly exchange ratio and percentage. Over time no one would even notice the difference. Historically it has already happened with hamburger meat. And they got away with it for a long time before anyone found out. This is how the “100% Beef” legal statement appeared in the market.
which probably speaks more to their meat whoppers....
But why, if you are vegetarian, do you want to spend all your time finding food that tastes like meat?
Looks like a former Burger Chef across the street, by the look of the sign.
“Plant based chicken” is typical left wing double speak. Plant based chicken substitute is more accurate, but accuracy is not the left’s strong point.
“If they really can replicate real meat taste etc. from plants, I am all for it. ”
Fair enough. But it’s more than just the taste. There are nutritional issues as well. Animal based protein is a nutritionally complete protein (contains all 7 essential amino acids). Plant based proteins tend to be deficient in one or more amino acid and therefore require multiple sources to provide necessary protein intake.
“The carcinogens in red meat stuff is overblown. There’s a lot of bad science in nutrition, and some if it designed to push people away from meat. Often for unrelated reasons....”
Indeed, Cholesterol for example. What most people will never know is that Cholesterol in a reactive substance rather than a causative one.
The body produces Cholesterol in a protective function. High Cholesterol is often indicative of an underlying condition, inflammation being one.
Cholesterol does not “cause” heart disease but is rather an indication of the body’s diseased condition and it’s natural response to it.
Sorry. :)
Yes, and keep your eyes out for Impossible Sausage and Impossible Chicken, they are up next
Would probably be an improvement ... bones and batter is pretty much correct.
Plant-based chicken? This is against the laws of nature!!!
[[How many millions of years have humans been burning/charring & eating meat since the discovery of fire?]]
About as many years as intestinal, colon and rectal cancer have been around- The medical literature does show an increased risk in those areas from carcinogens
Burger King has a vegan burger. Good place to try it out.
Soy: that makes it a NON food for me, I’m Hypothyroid and SOY, Grapefruit, Broccoli family foods are NO’s as they interfere with my Medication.
I’m tired of reading labels, that you need a magnifying glass for. Allergy test say Sea food, Red Food Dye along with the usual summer seasonal allergies.
