PRNewsWire ^ | 08/26/19 | Staff

Kentucky Fried Chicken® becomes the first national U.S. QSR (quick service restaurant) to introduce a plant-based chicken, in partnership with Beyond Meat®. Beyond Fried Chicken™ will make its debut August 27 in a limited test.

The new plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken offers the finger lickin' good fried chicken flavor only KFC can deliver as a perfect choice for those searching for plant-based meat options on-the-go.

Beyond Fried Chicken is available in nuggets with choice of favorite dipping sauce, like KFC's signature Finger Lickin' Good sauce, or boneless wings tossed in one of three delicious sauce options: Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ.

Those who want to be among the first to try the new plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken are invited to stop by the Cobb Parkway restaurant for a complimentary sample of Beyond Fried Chicken from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, August 27 (with purchase of any KFC menu item, while supplies last).

Burger King’s fake burger is just a Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patty.

Are you kidding? Their chickens aren’t allowed to get old enough for their bones to even harden. Soft as Chips Ahoy cookies...and about the size of a plucked African grey parrot.

it’s the supposed carcinogens that people try to cut down on- meat is kinda high in them especially if cooked on grill-

Depends on what you feed the cows with. Grass-fed beef doesn't have those chemicals. Also grass-fed beef has much more Omega 3s, than feed-fed beef.

We launched the Impossible Burger in 2016, but we didn’t stop there. Since then, we’ve been learning how to make it even better. In January 2019, we introduced our new recipe. The new Impossible Burger is tastier, juicier and more nutritious — featuring 30% less sodium and 40% less saturated fat than our current recipe and just as much protein as 80/20 ground beef from cows. 100% more delicious and more versatile than ever.

Read more about our recipe innovation here.

Check this out for ingredients etc.

I don’t work for Burger King. I don’t WORK! No connection except my stomach

What has gotten into the mahogany row offices of companies?

Go Homo, LGBTQWERTY to attract less than 2% of the population while pissing off 98% of possible customers?

Abandon your signature products in favor of trying to attract less than 1% of people who would never buy your product any way? McD’s, BK’s fries and Lays potato chips have all abandoned their best offerings in favor of more healthy choices that taste like crappy cardboard! Even if I wanted healthy food, a fast food place is the LAST place I would go to get it, so stick your healthy wokeness in your ear and dance with the date that brought you! Tallow and salt! And quit trying different BS products to lure in people who would never ever patronize your products and services. Now if I want fast food, I have to go to get different potato chips that taste like real potato chips and then buy your meat products.

OH! And pray tell what is a f***ing boneless wing? It is dry, tasteless white breast meat flavored with wing sauce. Do I need a class action suit to stop this idiocy from being referred to as boneless wings? There is no such thing as a boneless wing!

And now we have meatless meat?

Dear marketing dimwits and the CEO’s that listen to them, do your consumers a favor and go play in traffic!

it’s not the chemicals that create the carcinogens, it’s the ‘burning’ of the meat that creates it- anything that burns supposedly creates them-

“Barbecues and charred meat Some research suggests that burnt or charred meat may increase the risk of cancer. Substances called heterocyclic amines are formed in foods that are cooked at high temperatures and blackened or charred.

Lean red meat can be an important source of iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and protein. In terms of cancer risk there is no reason to cut red meat completely from your diet, but by limiting the amount you eat, you can reduce your risk of cancer.”

What is “plant-based chicken”?

Don’t chickens naturally eat plants already? At least the seeds and kernels from plants?

I hope thiamine isn’t dangerous at high levels- they list it as 1800+ % of daily need

Now I’m not saying your diet should be primarily composed of red meat.

Personally I will eat red meat probably no more than twice a week, and the serving size will be no bigger than my hand. And I tend to like it medium rare. Not necessarily because of the cancer concerns, but that’s just how I like it.

Hmmm a certain scene with Marlon Brando immediately comes to mind.

Yeah it’s fine if it works.

MorningStar Farms is all vegetarian, and their “corn dogs” are great, even 20 years ago when I first discovered them!

“If they really can replicate real meat taste etc. from plants, I am all for it. Somehow I doubt they can really do that.”

We bought the Impossible Whoppers this past weekend-plant based. Just to see what it was like

Could not tell from meat whopper. 100% same taste. The wife could not tell the difference either.

{Personally I will eat red meat probably no more than twice a week, and the serving size will be no bigger than my hand.]]

I’m bad, I have it like 6 times a week for dinner, and 7 days a week for breakfast- but then again I don’t care about my health much- but I would maybe- MAYBE consider an impossible burger IF it tastes like the real thing and doesn’t have bad crap in it, just to cut down a bit- I’m not completely reckless about my health- but mostly so i guess- but would think about cutting my risks down a little- but only if it wasn’t gross- The old veggie crap they sold/sell there was no way I’d eat that crap- totally gross stuff-
