Bernie: Prosecute oil execs as criminals

Promoting his newly unveiled $16.3 trillion "Green New Deal," 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders called for drastic action against oil companies.

"Fossil fuel executives should be criminally prosecuted for the destruction they have knowingly caused," he wrote Thursday on Twitter.

Sanders boasts his plan will reverse a climate "crisis" he likens to the crisis President Franklin Roosevelt faced when he launched the New Deal. The Vermont senator promises it will create 20 million jobs and achieve "100 percent renewable energy for electricity and transportation by no later than 2030 and complete decarbonization by at least 2050."

He says America must "directly invest a historic $16.3 trillion public investment toward these efforts, in line with the mobilization of resources made during the New Deal and WWII, but with an explicit choice to include black, indigenous and other minority communities who were systematically excluded in the past."

The plan will "pay for itself" over 15 years, he contends, warning the price of inaction is far greater.

Is this the same Bernie that travels all over the place by private aircraft?
I guess the aircraft are rubber-band powered.

And if the “robber baron” John D. Rockefeller the First could not be jailed simply for being a monopolist and the world’s first billionaire, what chance is there of ever putting ANY oil company executive in jail?

Sorry, Bernie. The law is already established, that executives of petroleum and energy-related corporations cannot be put in jail for the simple acts of extracting, refining and distributing “fossil fuels”.

Now, there are a lot of OTHER things, these executive may have done, or are capable of incorporating into their business plans, which WOULD land them in hot water, but just handling “fossil fuels” as a commodity is not one of them.

Yeah, well supposedly gun manufacturers can’t be sued either but we see where that’s gone lately.

LOL.
Funny thing is, climate change billionaires like Bernie, Hillary, Al & their ilk, are running around Africa & SE Asia harassing peasants in mud huts who ARE off-grid— or rather, they haven’t yet made it ON to the grid.

Those peasants’ wood-burning fires are smoky, see, and put out nasty carbon emissions that cause the climate to change.

The Clinton Foundation & AlGore, however, will sell them energy-efficient metal camp stoves that burn clean, green little *manufactured* pellets.

He has said he would nationalize energy companies. He would steal the assets of private companies and seize control of operations.

As such, he is telling us he would be a criminal.

We should prosecute politicians who get rich in office, like Bernie.

I say award each the Medal of Freedom.

Their organizations allow me to drive my car anywhere I want, and to know that there will always be someone within ten miles of wherever I am that will supply me with gasoline at a reasonable price.

This is the kind of statement that proves Bernie is very much in need of psychiatric treatment, just as much as the other Dim candidates.
The entire lot of them should invest in a clown car.
