Iconoclastic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard did the unforgiveable in the eyes of the hidebound Democratic Party establishment: She knocked down one their favorites, Kamala Harris.
...
Now, through the miracle of rule-rigging, the Democratic establishment has maneuvered to exact a price from her: No appearance at the next Democratic debate. No more taking down the next favorite.
...
Isn't Julian Castro polling around something like zero? Maybe he's there for affirmative action purposes, alongside his lockstep extremism.
Two, Google seems to have already done a number on Gabbard, taking down her paid-for campaign ads during the first debate when Internet viewers' interest in her spiked to the highest levels of all the campaign. Google, most of the reporting has neglected to note, is brimming with former Obama administration operatives. Democrats, the pillars, the money, the establishment. Might that suggest some sort of fix in for Gabbard as well? It's pretty obvious something is going on.
...
Right after Tulsi finished the second debate, Kamala Harris really did utterly tumble in the polls. Democratic voters, now aware of her incredibly corrupt record as a prosecutor - endorsing false testimony, keeping people in jail beyond their terms, throwing the impoverished in prison for marijuana crimes while admitting she enjoyed the weed herself -- are avoiding her now like a bad smell. Harris is damaged goods now, and she won't recover
...
Democrats are still the same old Democrats, and up to their old rigging tricks, putting their thumbs down on the scale for the candidates they prefer. They've done it before, against Bernie Sanders, and now they are doing it again to avenge Harris.

“..On a couple things maybe shes the most sensible of the lot...”
It’s an act. Nothing more. She’s their “War Hero”. John F. Kerry with tits.
“...the bizarre fixation some on the right have with her...”
She has a nice rack. That’s the fixation. Thinking with the wrong head.
John F. Kerry with tits.
Ugh. There’s two of them already:
I think you are right on. Those voters who have not already become Trump fans will be looking for another choice. Tulsi could be the Ross Perot of the 2020 Presidential election.
Just ignore the poor strategerists on this thread.
Heh. Ever since she got elected to Congress, I've heard a number of FReepers claim she's "hot" and I never found her all that attractive (ditto when FReepers used to drool over Ann Coulter). Tulsi was never ugly though, and looks better lately, I think maybe she got rid of that weird gray streak in her hair?
Her dad a decent guy until he turned RAT, maybe that endears her to some FReepers as well.
She'd be a piss poor Republican but she just seems sensible and level-headed compared to all the other barking moonbats on stage. She's not even "moderate", she's just SOUNDS reasonable. "In the kingdom of the blind, the man with one eye is king" sort of thing.
Academically, her campaign is interesting ...in terms of the process. Similarly, the Ron Paul campaign was, too.
Peculiar is often entertaining.
Now, if u really want weird ... Read about the cult that her parents belong to. The craziest part is that Tulsi is still in the cult.
“.. she just seems sensible and level-headed compared to all the other barking moonbats ...”
Boom, right there. And that is WHY she is there. As in “Gee, Ma, look, now HERE’S a dem we can vote for...”
“...She’s not even “moderate”, ...”
No, she is definitely not. She’s fully “one of them”.
VOting record wise they are all almost identical. I’m just going on that
His shtick is (other than bringing back slavery) attacking Berniecare and stuff like that.
I don’t agree with your analysis, she’s a frigging liberal, she’d take Peacenik/Reefer votes on the left, those people didn’t vote for Trump last time and they are not very smart, they don’t care about wasting their vote.
Academic since I doubt an indie bid is in the offering.
So FWIW she just said she won’t run as an indy and the mood on lib twitter is celebratory.
The old mattress is the identity politics wings wet dream....
I thought she was their best candidate
I thought she was their best candidate
Or least worse
True
She is.
