When Attorney General William Barr said he was "appalled" and "angry" after Jeffrey Epstein's apparent suicide at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, you'd almost have thought Barr himself bore no responsibility. He spoke of "serious irregularities" and "demanded" an investigation -- as if he were some outside observer incapable of simply ordering an investigation himself.
Listening to him pour fire and brimstone on the rank-and-file who run the jail, you almost have to wonder: Has Barr taken a look at his org chart recently? Because the Metropolitan Correctional Center is part of the Bureau of Prisons, which is part of the Justice Department, which Barr runs.
He is responsible for all of it. This happened in Barr's house. He doesn't get to stand outside, wag his finger, roll the blame downhill and call it a day.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is a separate agency from DOJ. The DOJ (Barr) had no say on how FBOP handles prisoners..

And i’m wondering why you are willing to absolve Barr of accountability merely because CNN absolved Holder of accountability. If CNN told you to jump off a bridge, would you? I usually don’t take my inspiration from them, even in order to point out how hypocritical they are.
El Chapo went as far as praising the guards and the US Marshalls. So in a matter of weeks, MCC was suddenly staffed by F Troop. A guy supposedly not even a security guard was put on the Epstein detail. Overworked ? Not following procedures ? Yeah something stinks here Barr. Just exactly what ? Firing some schleprock ain’t the answer.
CNN is morally outraged? Really? What utter chutzpah!
I remember reading an opinion by some law enforcement officer, probably retired, who said Epstein was sent to that particular prison on purpose so he would never come out alive.

Barr could have found one trustable agent (or a few on a rotating basis) to go and be there with Epstein 24/7 until the trial, as witness protection.
So, taking this idiocy to its logical conclusion, they should fire every Federal Prison Warden and have the AG run them all.
Every Federal Prison Employee can report directly to the AG.
That should work out fine and dandy.
