RUSH: Do you know how Daylight Savings Time is killing us? How do you think? If you just had to wild guess, it’s obviously a Drive-By Media concern. Daylight Savings Time is killing us. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Well, yes, but it’s effective sleep pattern. The one hour of sleep that we are losing every spring when we turn the clocks forward is causing people months of distress, months of sleeplessness, and it’s causing some people to die prematurely, and the story is what should we do to fix it?
Should we eliminate it? Should we go on daylight time year round? We can’t continue this way with some states on it, some states not on it. I’m sitting here, I’m thinking, okay. So these people are concerned that turning the clock forward one hour one time per year is causing sleep disorders that are ultimately killing people? With the left, virtually every wrong is killing somebody!
This is just ridiculous. What about people with insomnia who don’t sleep much any night of the year? What in the world is the point they’re trying to say, turning the clocks up one hour, one day a year, is causing calamity with American sleep patterns? My God, folks, we are surrounded by so much ignorance and stupidity every day that you have to work hard making sure that it does not infect you.
After they get rid of it, within five years they’ll be demanding to bring it back.

Yeah and it contributes to global warming what with the sun being out an hour extra per day!

We moved to AZ, but I remote into a job on eastern time, so it affects me anyway. Plus when everyone else is on DST, Rush is put on one-hour delay in Phoenix, so I have to go to IHeart to hear him live.
Maybe we should adopt the Ancient Romans’ way of telling time.
The Sunrise was at 0:00:00 every day, no matter what time of year it was...................

With the arguments those GW people use I believe they do. We should go to their websites and troll them with it.
In Arizona was have more daylight than we know what to do with. There is no way to get us to save any.

Daylight savings time is like prohibition. It seemed like a good idea at the time...
The further south you are, the less desirable it is. Arizona and Hawaii don’t have it, as I recall. They may as well not bother.
Up there in Massachusetts it does make a difference. As I recall, some foreign countries have double daylight savings time.
I suppose Alaska is so far north it doesn’t matter...you’re going to get 20 hour days in the summer and 4 hour days in the winter.
In general it should be a state issue not a federal issue.
However the zones need to be contiguous.
If New Jersey doesn’t want it and New York does and Connecticut doesn’t and Kassachusetts does, I think it is a proper use of the interstate commerce clause to overrule the states.
Sorry, Rush, DST sucks and it does screw me up for weeks after the clocks change. Less so than it did when I worked a daily job on the clock but it still messes me up.
We missed Hiroshima/Nagasaki this year, so we had to make up for it.
I think we can dispense with DST more because it’s a nuisance than anything else.
