On Friday night, HBO host Bill Maher talked about the Democrats' support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, commonly referred to as the BDS Movement. According to Maher, the Democrats have now created a "bulls**t purity test" when it comes to supporting a boycott against Israel.
"BDS is a bulls**t purity test by people who want to appear woke and have actually slept through history class," Maher said, at which point the audience broke out into a thunderous applause. "It's predicated on this notion that is very shallow thinking, that the Jews are in Israel are mostly white and the Palestinians are browner so they [Palestinians] must be innocent and correct and the Jews must be wrong. As if occupation came out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied. Forget about the infectadas and the suicide bombings and the rockets and how many wars?"
Maher's comments come after Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was initially denied entry into Israel to visit her dying grandmother. Israeli law prevents people who support the BDS Movement from visiting the country, although humanitarian exceptions are made. Eventually, Israel decided to grant a humanitarian exemption to Tlaib so she could visit her dying grandmother. Of course, Tlaib rejected the opportunity.
When Tlaib received word of Maher's take on the stance, she had one simple solution: those who agree with her – and the BDS Movement – should boycott the liberal commentator's show.
Maybe folks should boycott his show.

Tlaib said her "form of speech" – guess that means boycotting? – is based on "equality and freedom." But it's not. People like Tlaib and those who support the BDS Movement don't even want Israel to exist. These supporters don't want the Jewish people to have a safe haven after all that their people have endured.
This movement isn't about obtaining equality (even though we don't know what that would look like). It's about eliminating Israel altogether. It's about pretending that past history hasn't taken place. And that's unrealistic.
I can’t fathom why you posted this to this thread but it does bring to mind the trilogy which I last read about 30 years ago.
I can’t for the life of me remember any mention in the trilogy of what happened to the Dwarf-lord rings.

“Eventually” was roughly 2 hours after rejecting her terrorist-sponsored visit. Before that, Israel hadn’t responded at all to her travel request, simply because they didn’t know her itinerary.

I’m so tired of the narrative, perpetuated by the media, that you have to choose a side either “Pro-Israel” or “Pro-Palestinian”. That perpetuates conflict. And this mindset is seeping into US politics with the racial and ethnic division pushed by the Democrats.
But as far as this goes, you just need a real sense of universal principles and you can be both a Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestinian supporter. The problem is the left has no realistic value system other than their hierarchy of grievance groups.
I want the Palestinian people to be free and to prosper. This does not mean I support Hamas or the PLO or even the P.A. Those are corrupt, murderous organizations and worse, they oppress and suppress their people and perpetuate poverty and incite violence and foment war to keep their futile grudge alive - and that is what keeps them in power. Same with their religious leadership. I don’t care if you want to pray 5 times a day just don’t advocate blowing people up, don’t say it is OK to murder people and don’t preach hatred of other people. The last thing these groups need or want is a free and educated people. More Palestinians are killed and oppressed by Palestinian groups claiming some moral or legal authority than by Israelis. They execute people in the streets and hang them from lamposts like some of the Mexican drug gangs do. They need hope and as long as the US and EU continue to support the current Palestinian government the Palestinian people will suffer.
At least Trump has seen this for what it is and has cut off aid to many of the stupid programs that were funding incitement and oppression. Some EU countries have also scaled back aid such as funding that went to Jew-hating school books. Next, I believe, Trump will unveil his economic plan to lift the Palestinian people and give them economic hope. They will have to choose - another generation of conflict, or grab the lifeline and make peace and build a society that respects human and civil rights.

His audience breaks out into a thunderous applause no matter what he says. That guy's audience is a bunch of sheep. He could say anything and they'd agree with him because they believe the people sitting to their left and right agree with him. They feel that to laugh at what Bill says is contrarian and virtuous. They believe disagreeing with 1% of conventional wisdom lefty-ism only makes them more purely ... right about everything ... they are practical lefties who have thought things through and to prove it, they disagree with 1% of the moos and grunts of the herd ... and everyone but them is of lesser intellect. Pitiful!
What it comes down to is that 99% percent of cows poop facing away from the sun, Mahre's cows poop facing it, because Bill says how stupid you have to be to poop facing the sun, and so they believe this sun-facing-pooping attribute makes them something above herd animals.

That’s exactly Israel’s position...so I’d say you have picked a side - obviously the correct side.
How do I know it’s Israel’s position? Easy, where they have Palestinians but none of the terror groups, the Palestinians are left to be free and prosper...and that is inside of Israel - well over a million of them.
Maher occasionally lets an honest opinion slip out. Compared to people like Maddow, Acosta, Nadler, Schiff, etc., he’s a truth speaker. Every time he lets one slip they howl like banshees but they always come back.
I’ve never understood self-hating Jews. I have a few friends on the east coast of FL that are rabid leftist socialist liberals.

Maher just sees a case of religion dividing people, which he has always railed against, not that I necessarily agree with him, but that is the mindset of many atheists, like Maher.
