You cant walk through the streets of Manhattan these days without smelling weed.
Even as evidence mounts of the health problems associated with marijuana, New York has insisted on joining other greedy states scrambling to legalize this deceptively dangerous drug.
It makes no sense at a time when American youth is suffering from an unprecedented mental health crisis.
And, in all honesty, we cannot rule out a connection between increasing marijuana use, mental illness and the recent spate of mass shootings by disturbed young males.
We dont yet know much about the mental state or drug use of the El Paso or Dayton killers. But a former girlfriend of Dayton killer Connor Betts, 24, has indicated he was mentally ill, and two of his friends interviewed by reporters this week mentioned his previous drug use.
Just last year, the Parents Opposed to Pot lobby group tried to sound the alarm on the link between marijuana and mass shootings, compiling a list of mass killers it claims were heavy users of marijuana from a young age, from Aurora, Colo., shooter James Holmes and Tucson, Ariz., shooter Jared Loughner to Chattanooga, Tenn., shooter Mohammad Abdulazeez.

Like no MS -13 gang banger smokes dope.
all those chicago shooters keep off the grass, do they?
This is Your
Brain on Drugs.
This is your brain on soy lgqbtraekmvziyn
One word = Ritalin. We now have an entire generation of white males doped to the max but it’s grubermint sanctioned.
Ms13 smoke, snort, inject, etc. any and everything. Weed probably calms them down more than anything
Odds are pot isn’t the only drug they use.
The clown that shot Giffords was a heavy user. I believe the Aurora shooter was, too. I’m not citing causation. Pretty sure there are heavy users in many demographics.
For bangers it’s a business. And as stated before, they snort/inject everything, and weed is likely the least of the violence inducing drugs they take
Well that sure did bring the prohibitionists out of the woodwork. lol
I am with you 1,000% where Ritalin is concerned every damn one of these shooters has been on Ritalin or a drug just like it with a different name WHY in the hell has this link not been made!!! I am waiting to find out if one or both of these shooters were on these drugs!!!
Do you have documentation for your assertion? I would seriously question any study which produced results of 100%.
“ingest a psychotropic drug and not have it adversely affect one’s brain”
Alcohol is a psychotropic drug.
I have no opinion about any connection between marijuana use and mass shootings one way or the other. I don’t know enough about the claims.
There do seem to be some issues with young people using marijuana before their brain is developed. Many growing claims in the medical/mental health community that marijuana does a lot of damage to a developing brain.
There is also concern with mental health providers that marijuana seems to be able to trigger psychosis in a developing brain.
Interesting reading if you look into marijuana and the developing brain and marijuana psychosis.
I think more research needs to be done; many things are harmful to developing brains.
Add in corn products and byproducts. Formula uses corn syrup solids (same as powdered coffee creamer).
Corns in so much of our processed foods sweetener, oil, starch, flour, meal. Breakfast cereals, soft drinks and crunchy snacks...all corn delivery systems.
And a great many become, after years of constant corn product exposure (as with latex), allergic to corn, with behavioral symptoms. Weaned our kids off corn early on, after discovering our ones corn-allergic behavioral issue. Went from suspected ADHD to normal, even top of their class.
The book Is This Your Child? is a real eye opener. I.e., does your kid misbehave whenever you do laundry? Might be from bleach chlorine or chemicals in the detergent or softener.
Its true. I have been giving my cat Hemp Oil drops for her thyroid issues.
I have noticed an increase in dead mice and birds around the yard.
I heard an attorney, who’s wife is a mental health professional in NY, on Fox one morning not long ago. He had written a book, at his wife’s behest, about the mental health issues created by heavy marijuana use, some of which included violent episodes. The gist of that interview was that his wife is certain that heavy marijuana use is becoming a major factor in violent crime because of its impact on mental and emotional health, but that fact is being ignored. We need to press the pause button and study this a little more before we rush headlong into legalization. I am not an expert on the matter, but there are some voices crying in the wilderness on this subject.
For crying out loud, can’t we make a decision anymore in this country based on a careful review of facts? Politics and cultural expediency make 99% of our policy decisions these days. That is a recipe for disaster.
Good luck with that. Both these guys fit the profile of doped children that are "cut off" after high school. They have no concept of reality.
I think we have no idea how many ADHD kids self medicate with pot, regardless of what else is prescribed
